Perfect location, cute minimal room. The host was very welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. The breakfast was served right by the river, which was very nice. I would totally recommend

A nice and cozy little Inn just a few steps (literally) from the scenic area. The river view from the second floor is superb (attached). The personnel are very kind and helpful. They also serve a delicious breakfast which you can have on a terrace with the same river view. That was arguably the best breakfast I ever had at a Chinese hotel. I highly recommend the place if the purpose is to explore the neighborhood.

We had a very comfortable stay. The room amenities were very modern, featuring a smart shower and toilet, and even branded toiletries. Our room offered stunning views, directly overlooking the river and Yuanjin Temple. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient town. I also want to praise the owner for the delicious breakfast they prepared. Overall, we were extremely satisfied and will definitely be back!

So close to the important beautiful sights, smells and sounds of a place back in time! The accommodation is clean and rustic as hoped, transporting my stay back to Old China! A memorable stay!

Shiyuan (Persimmon Garden) offered a truly heartwarming stay. This charming B&B is nestled right within the ancient town, boasting beautiful surroundings. Across the river, a Zen temple attracts a constant stream of visitors, adding to the picturesque scenery. Enjoying breakfast by the river in the morning was incredibly relaxing. It’s truly an oasis of calm amidst the lively buzz of the town!

Charming Stay in the Heart of Zhujiajiao Our one-night stay at Shiyuan Inn was truly wonderful. Located right inside Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, it’s a perfect place to spend the night if you want to soak in the atmosphere of this historic water town. Unlike many other modernized hotels in the area, Shiyuan Inn retains the classic charm and traditional interior that reflects the spirit of the old town. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. During our stay, there was a noisy guest in the room above us, and the owner thoughtfully offered us a late check-out the next day so we could get some extra rest — a gesture we truly appreciated. Breakfast was included and lovingly prepared by the owner himself. It was simple yet heartwarming, and we got to enjoy it at the back of the inn with a peaceful river view. Just perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay overnight in Zhujiajiao and experience a more authentic side of the town.

Absolutely loved it here! The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making for a truly wonderful experience. The place was clean and comfortable, and I'll definitely be returning!

I’m an expat residing in Shanghai and this is the fifth time I visit Zhujiajiao, each time in a different hotel. All were very good, but this one is now the one I will definitely come back to in my next trips. Outstanding and highly recommended.

Really nice homestay in the heart of Zhujiajao ancient town. It's a small house with just a few rooms. While the lady speaks English, her husband communicated by translator app with me. The riverside rooms really have a nice view. The ancient town can be discovered by walking. To Shanghai center it's about 75 minutes by subway or taxi. The room included a nice breakfast. I preferred this homestay over any hotel in Shanghai. The area is so nice, it's a Chinese version of Venice, Italy. During sunny days, after 9am the narrow streets will be crowded by (mainly Chinese) tourists.

The stay is pretty decent. The room is pretty clean as well and its close to the scenic area. Would definitely stay there again.

The family managing this hotel is so kind and friendly. They gave us great information and what to visit in the city and also indicated us good restaurants to eat. The breakfast was delicious as well. The owner even drove us to the metro station the next day. Many thanks again🙏🏻😊

beautiful space and excellent location (not too far from the entry). you can rest in their courtyard or sit in the backyard next to the river watching the buzzling of the old china has to offer whilst sipping the chinese tea. to top it off, the owner hospitality is beyond! top star. definitely will recommend to friends and families x

Best location in the area. Hospitality from the host is memorable. We enjoyed sitting by the river sipping tea in front of the Homestay for long long time. It’s worth every cents. Highly recommend if it becomes available. It’s a real gem. If we can, we will definitely visit this place again.
