Homeinn Selected Hotel (Shanghai Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street)

Hotel location is very good surrounded with lots of shops and restaurants. However this hotel do not provide lift, so we have to hand carry our luggage walking up the stairs to our room. We realised the shower spray is not working so we requested the hotel staffs to get it fix, the lady who attended to us came to our room and checked the condition and we told her she may arrange the repair while we are out for our shopping. On the day of check out, when we are about to carry the luggage down the stairs we both realised that our luggage handle were all broken! We are very shock becuz the luggage hv been in our room all the while and it was all well when we check in to our room! During the moment of check out as our driver is waiting in front of the hotel which is a small lane, his car might obstruct the traffic so we check out in a hurry without highlighting to the hotel staffs about our luggage handle broken issue... Till we landed in the car, we observe the broken handle and realised that my luggage handle is being 'cut' broken and my hubby's luggage handle inner support pin is gone!. We only can say it's a lesson to learn, Don trust and leave yr room to anyone to attend to our needs or during any minor repair. All I Can think of... probably becuz we forgotten to leave some tipping money for the repair, or else how could both luggage handle so coincidentally broken at the same spot and at the same time. .

Hotel is situated in a great location. Room is of a good size. No lift service so can be tiring if stayed 3rd floor. Receptionist and security guard are friendly. The only unhappy experience was one of our toothbrushes suspected to get tempered with. My daughter accidentally spilled foundation in the basin on our second day of stay. When we came back to hotel, we noticed one of our toothbrushes was stained with foundation, looked as if it was used to scrub basin. We tried to check with hotel staff but they insisted cleaner had nothing to do with the toothbrush. We did not want to continue pursuing this incident because there is not much evidence and we actually wasted some time trying to meet up with the manager. The manager did make an effort to look for us the last night before we checked out of the hotel. She gave us some souvenirs as service recovery I supposed. By the way we stayed 8 nights in total.

The only pros is the location itself, located at nanjing lu, down stairs is the famous lai lai xiao long This hotel is very old, room very small, customer service attitude is bad, when we arrive they not even welcome us, no lift and u need to carry the luggage by urself, will not come back agn next time

Hotel address is very convenient and there is alot of places to eat, there is a hotpot place called 徐妈 right next door highly recommended! The staff are very friendly helpful!

The room is clean with non-smoking. The receptionist is nice and helpful. If you need help carry your baggages you can ask her because there is no lift here.

Convenient is the only advantage for staying at this hotel otherwise... !!

This hotel is in a great location, close to East Nanjing Road and People’s Square. If you’re traveling with large luggage, it’s convenient to get off at East Nanjing Road Station, where Exit 2 has an escalator. Overall, the hotel is excellent—the staff are very accommodating and make an effort to communicate using a translator if you don’t speak Chinese. I was very impressed with their hospitality.

We received a warm welcome and excellent service. Although the cleaning and tidying of the room during the first two days wasn't perfect, the issue was resolved well afterward.
