Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel Reviews

This was my third stay here, and since my previous two experiences were good, I decided to come back again. The hotel is conveniently located near Zhongshan Park Station, Exit 5, which serves Metro Lines 2, 3, and 4. The hotel is directly connected to the Dragon Dream shopping mall on the first floor, and Raffles City is less than a five-minute walk away. This prime location makes it incredibly convenient for dining, shopping, and transportation. Food deliveries are left in a special locker on the first floor, so guests need to pick them up themselves. Alternatively, you can dine at the hotel's own restaurants or opt for room service. This time, I stayed on the 38th floor. The next morning, around 10 AM, the housekeeping uncle came by to ask if I had any laundry for dry cleaning. I didn't, so I asked him to clean my room. He was very diligent; I just told him what I needed restocked, and he made sure to provide it, and he cleaned the room exactly as I requested. I really appreciate his excellent service. The hotel beds, especially the pillows, are very comfortable. I have back and neck issues, but I slept soundly for two nights with no discomfort. As for the subway, it generally stops around 11 PM and resumes service around 6 AM. I'm a light sleeper who often needs sleeping pills, but I didn't find the noise level too bothersome; it was acceptable. The hotel hallways are also very quiet and clean, with no noise from other guests. The elevators are always readily available, so no major issues there. Being on a high floor, the room offered expansive views, and I was able to capture some beautiful night photos from my room (see the last 4 pictures). My only minor complaints were that check-in was a bit slow. Around 3 PM, there was a long line at the front desk. The lady explained it was due to a slow computer system. Also, the bathroom door in my room wouldn't close completely, always leaving a gap (see the fifth picture), so I had to angle the showerhead carefully when showering. The 'Do Not Disturb' button seemed to be linked to the lights (see the fourth picture); I was worried that if I pressed it, the lights would turn on, and it might be misunderstood as a 'Do Not Disturb' signal, preventing housekeeping from entering. Lastly, on my previous two stays, I was allowed a 2 PM late check-out, but this time I was only allowed until 12 PM. This might be due to high occupancy. Overall, despite a few minor points, my multiple stays have been quite good, and I would definitely consider coming back again.

This is a very old hotel, especially the facilities. **Amenities:** The elevator doesn't require a key card – you read that right, anyone can access any floor. The room key card isn't a tap-to-open type; you have to insert and swipe it, which feels like a system from at least five years ago. The mattress must be of very poor quality. I weigh 95 *jin* (approx. 105 lbs), not 95 kilograms, and when I woke up in the morning, there was a noticeable dip in the middle of the mattress. **Environment:** Couldn't be better. The first floor is seamlessly connected to a shopping mall, allowing for easy browsing. This alone made me tolerate everything else. **Service:** Also up to par. **Breakfast:** A rich variety, with both Chinese and Western sections. It's definitely a breakfast that lives up to its price point.

We're Shenzhen FC fans, and we specifically chose the Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel for our trip to Shanghai to watch their game. Overall, our stay was very good. The family triple room was perfect for us; the bed arrangement was convenient, and we slept quite comfortably. The hotel's location is excellent, conveniently close to the stadium, making getting around easy. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, so finding food after the game was no problem. The staff were very helpful, especially Jamie, who was easy to communicate with and very enthusiastic. The rooftop bar also had a great atmosphere and good service. All in all, it was a very satisfying stay. We'd definitely consider staying here again if we come back to Shanghai for another Shenzhen FC match.

The bathtub was leaking. The service attitude was good, but they didn't fix the problem. The complimentary breakfast was just so-so, and the apology fruit was barely acceptable. I don't recommend booking here, folks, be cautious.

The location is excellent and the service is great, but the duvet in the room seemed a bit moldy inside (it didn't look very clean under the light).

The hotel's location is excellent, close to my relatives' home, with a subway entrance and a large supermarket downstairs – super convenient! Because of this, the occupancy rate might be high, as we encountered a slight issue during check-in. However, the front desk was very responsible and helped us resolve it by upgrading our room to a top-floor executive suite. The room was clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped. The view of the 'three-piece suite' (Lujiazui skyline) was perfect. This left us with wonderful memories of our three-night stay. Many thanks!

There was no room available when I checked in, and I had to wait until 3 PM to get into my room, which messed up all my subsequent plans. The mini-fridge still had yogurt left by the previous guest – good thing I asked the front desk before drinking it! The room itself was very run-down with lots of damage: the shower curtain was broken, the showerhead holder was broken, the hairdryer was broken, and the power outlets were broken. The duty manager later offered a small compensation and complimentary breakfast.

Stayed at the Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel during the May Day holiday. It's a one-stop shop for dining, entertainment, and accommodation, with convenient transportation and comfortable amenities. The room was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast on the 26th floor offered a wide variety of options, and the window seats provided panoramic views of Shanghai. Highly recommended for families with children.

This hotel is super convenient, literally just 5 meters from Longzhimeng (Dragon Dream) mall! You step out and you're right there. The front desk is on the 25th floor, and the greeters downstairs are really sharp and attentive. The front desk staff are efficient, thorough, and patient. My room was very spacious, and all the amenities were complete. The environment was clean and hygienic. Plus, the hotel has a swimming pool, and swimming on a high floor feels quite unique! This is by far the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at in Shanghai, and I'll definitely come back if I have the chance.

Traveling with two kids, I wanted a family room close to the subway, so I booked this place. It's an older hotel, and the room facilities are dated, which is understandable. However, the breakfast and executive lounge experience were very mediocre. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, we had to clear our own plates from the table, and the cappuccino from the machine was cold, plus the coffee machine looked dirty. These 'soft power' aspects are things the hotel could easily improve if they cared. Check-in and check-out at the front desk, though, went smoothly.

The room was clean, and the service was good. The environment was decent, though the facilities were a bit old. The location is excellent, right at Zhongshan Park subway station, with Longzhimeng shopping and dining conveniently located downstairs.

This is my second stay here. I brought my kids last time and it was so convenient. The subway is right downstairs, and Line 2 goes to both airports. I chose it again for my business trip this time. There's all sorts of food downstairs, plus a Hema Fresh supermarket. If you want to go for a walk, there's a park nearby too. It's super convenient for dining, accommodation, and entertainment.

Honestly, I'm speechless. This is the worst five-star hotel I've ever stayed in. I don't mind if it's old, but it's also not clean. There was a super long queue at check-in, and the front desk didn't answer my calls multiple times until I contacted Ctrip to sort it out. The room was boiling hot, like a sauna, with no air conditioning. It's a real shame considering the great location, completely tarnishing the Renaissance brand. The breakfast selection was decent, but the quality was just average.

Extremely well located, friendly and helpful staff, unbeatable views. Simply flawless.
