Conveniently located at the Central Area, walking distance to the pedestrian road and nice eatery.

The Grand Central Hotel Shanghai is located next to Nanjing road so it’s very central. The decoration of the hotel looks a bit outdated which lots of golden colors and palm trees in the lobby. Upon my arrival the concierge staff helped to take out my luggage from the car and as we were walking inside he wanted to store my luggage and telling me that check in was at 2pm. I arrived at 12pm. I told him I will go to the reception first and brought my luggage with me. The receptionist checked my booked and said the room isn’t ready and asked me to wait. As I was very tired I asked how long I need to wait and he said until 2pm. I asked if I could perhaps double check at 1 pm and he said ok. I checked again at 1pm and the room wasn’t ready. Finally I got the room at about 1:40. The room size was good and the maintenance of the room was ok although a bit worn out but the decoration looks very outdated and makes the room look more old. Moreover, they had some old brochures in the room which doesn’t really apply to today’s needs such as an old Shanghai yellow pages catalogue etc. Furthermore, there was two bottles of water in the room with tags and on the tag it was clearly stated that only two bottles of water is provided per day per room and additional water bottles will be charged at 10RMB per bottle. I think this makes the hotel seem stingy, supposedly stating that it’s a five star hotel. Haven’t encountered this at hotels with lower star ratings that I stayed at. Another issue was that the HBO channel on the TV didn’t work and that was the only foreign channel on the tv for movies so perhaps international travelers wouldn’t have much to watch. My stay was so so.. the most positive aspect being the central location.

A charming and cozy hotel with a classic ambiance. The staff were all incredibly gracious and attentive, providing impeccable service. I particularly loved the freshly baked pork mooncakes, which brought back sweet childhood memories. An excellent hotel that's definitely worth revisiting.

Excellent location, very close to Nanjing Road and the subway. The hotel facilities are great, and the service is warm and attentive. The room was spacious and uniquely designed, with fantastic high-floor views of Nanjing Road. I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The hotel offers a full range of excellent facilities. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Its prime location provides easy access to public transport, with Metro Lines 2 and 10 conveniently nearby, making it ideal for exploring the city. Housekeeping kept the guest rooms meticulously clean, and the common areas were also immaculately maintained.

Very helpful and friendly doormen who welcomed us everytime we stepped in and helped with our luggages etc. Cleaning lady was honest— we (deliberately) left behind a powerbank that is spoilt and she returned it to the luggage collection counter. Central location near Nanjing Road where there are plenty of shopping and food options.

Location is near to the famous shopping district. Hotel is comfortable. service staff are very polite and smiley. Would like to extend my thanks to hotel staff Andy for helping me to arrange my transport to the airport and Tom for helping me to resolve my taobao courier issues.

I love that the room is spacious and so as the bathroom. It’s very quiet at night, we had a good sleep. Food is ok, but can be improved by providing more options. Location is great, one minute walk to East nanjing road and is surrounded by restaurants and shops. Will definitely book again!

The hotel is great. The rooms are large and clean, making it suitable for families. The bathroom is also spacious. In terms of service, our family was assisted by a hotel staff member named Francis, who helped us from carrying our luggage to making restaurant reservations. Francis provided excellent service and was extremely helpful to our family. 这家酒店很好，房间大而且干净，非常适合家庭入住。浴室也很宽敞。服务方面，我们一家人得到了酒店员工 Francis 的照顾，他从帮忙拿行李到预订餐厅都一一协助。Francis 的服务非常好，也对我们家庭提供了很大的帮助。

Great location . Next to Nanjing pedestrian street but street has lost its shopping flavour. Only big names now occupy what was once bustling with varieties. Plenty of amenities n eating places

All was great about the hotel! the staff were friendly and keen to help! hotel breakfast could be skipped/ improved and shower pressure can be stronger. Apart from these, all is good
