Metropark Jichen Hotel Shanghai

This is an older four-star hotel, but the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Although the hotel has a bit of an older feel, the decor and maintenance are excellent. Walking into the lobby, there's a real vacation vibe, and the staff, dressed in Southeast Asian-style attire, are incredibly warm and friendly. Upon check-in, they kindly upgraded us to a high-floor room with a great view and even gave us some Shanghai-specialty butterfly pastries. They also thoughtfully provided complimentary breakfast, understanding that our child needed to go to school in the morning, which was incredibly considerate. The overall environment is cozy and comfortable, and the attention to detail in their service is outstanding. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai.

Excellent service and a convenient location. There are several chain coffee shops nearby, and dining options are plentiful with a noodle restaurant, Ningbo cuisine, McDonald's, and ********* food. Plus, there's an Aldi supermarket, making life very convenient.

Great downtown location, and it's easy to get a taxi right outside the hotel. They also have an internal parking lot, which is convenient if you're driving to the city center. I booked two rooms, and the front desk upgraded them for us. Excellent service.

The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of food options nearby and convenient transportation. However, the carpets in the lobby and rooms are so thick that it's nearly impossible to push luggage. Also, there was a sign at the front desk advertising a business car service to Hongqiao Airport for 120 RMB, but when I confirmed at the front desk, I was told it would be over 200 RMB. That's a bit of a rip-off.

This is my third time choosing Gichen, and it's always my top choice when I visit Shanghai. My stay this time was consistently excellent, so I definitely have to give it a good review. 1. Location & Transportation: It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but still acceptable. 2. Service Experience: The front desk staff proactively greeted me and arranged a preferred floor. Both check-in and check-out processes were quick, professional, and efficient. 3. Room Environment: The room is very well-maintained. Even though it's my third stay, the cleanliness details are impeccably handled. Summary: The fact that I keep coming back is the best proof of its quality.

The room was spacious and clean, with a good layout and plenty of natural light. The front desk staff were professional and enthusiastic. The location is excellent, not far from Jing'an Temple and the commercial street. The special services offered were great, as was the authentic local food.

Every time I come to Shanghai for a business trip, I stay here. The service is excellent. The front desk lady upgraded my room and arranged a quiet one facing the residential area, and the view outside the window was actually pretty good, haha. The room was very clean, and even though there were many foreign guests, it didn't affect the hotel's cleanliness standards. I honestly wouldn't dare stay at other hotels right now, so I hope they maintain this high standard of hygiene. Plus, a big shout-out to the young man in the Ming Dynasty Hanfu in the lobby – promoting our Chinese cultural attire, absolutely brilliant!
