Haiyan Hotel

Parking is convenient with a parking lot. The rooms are nice, clean, and the service is good. 👍 I stayed two nights in a row.

It's about a 10-minute walk from Dalian Road subway station. The lobby is large and grand, befitting a hotel owned by a wealthy tobacco company. Although the hotel is old, the facilities have been renovated. There are plenty of electrical outlets in the rooms, and the switches are all relatively new smart panels. The double rooms are incredibly spacious; the large space is very comfortable, and you can even enjoy the Shanghai night view at night. While the bathroom sink is small, the shower is quite spacious, the water heats up quickly, and they provide shower gel and shampoo. However, you need to call the front desk to request toothbrushes and combs. Because of the high floor, it's very quiet at night. However, there's a construction site next door that starts working around 7 am, but luckily our itinerary included leaving early, so it wasn't a problem. The buffet breakfast on the second floor doesn't have a huge selection, but for under 400 RMB, including breakfast is excellent value. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I'm visiting the area again.

I rarely comment on this hotel. This hotel is truly terrible. The hygiene is terrible, the environment is terrible, and it's right next to a construction site. There's no service to speak of, and no smiles the entire time. Perhaps this is the hotel's inherent sense of superiority. The room card wouldn't open the elevator, so they made you go back to the front desk to re-enter the room card, like a monkey trick. They didn't even think about whether it was the elevator or their own operation that was wrong. The most basic thing they could do was to check inside the elevator instead of constantly making guests run back and forth. There were no disposable items in the rooms. Shouldn't they have informed them? This kind of service, I don't know if it's just shoddy, but it doesn't matter! Oh, there are too many details I don't want to mention. They should improve their service level.

The hotel was great for families with children; it was clean and tidy, and very conveniently located near tourist attractions and the subway.

The room was okay, newly renovated. The check-in process was a bit cumbersome, especially considering the fast check-in and fast check-out era. They even asked for a deposit. The staff were average. I asked for a bottle of water, but they were reluctant to give it to me.

Although there were construction and renovation sites in front and behind, there was no noise once the windows on the higher floors were closed. The breakfast was also plentiful and plentiful. During the National Day holiday, for a hotel in Shanghai like this, with free parking, the service was exceptionally good.

The room was generally OK, but there was some noise interference from the construction site across the street. It was acceptable during the day, but the construction work didn't finish until 12 a.m. and started again at 6 a.m., which really affected my normal rest.
