W Shanghai - The Bund Reviews

Fabulous view, brilliant position at the north Bund, service is also great. We enjoyed our stay pretty much. Best recommendations.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast selection was extensive. The hotel is conveniently located right above Bailan Plaza, offering a wide variety of dining options. It's also just a short walk down to the river, perfect for enjoying the breathtaking night views of the Huangpu River and the Bund – absolutely delightful.

A superbly located luxury hotel, perfect for young travelers. It blends youthfulness with luxury seamlessly. At night, you get direct panoramic views of the Bund. I stayed on the 30th floor this time.

The view is great, and the hotel staff are very friendly! 👍 The pool is beautiful and perfect for families with kids. The hotel's afternoon tea also offers a lovely view of the three major landmarks. 😌

The river view is absolutely stunning, with large windows directly overlooking the Huangpu River – a top-notch view! There's a huge 3-meter bed, and a long sofa chair by the window that could easily sleep two more people. This room would be super comfortable for a family trip. Both the shower and bathtub in the bathroom are great, with excellent water pressure. The staff were all very warm and helpful, and everything was just perfect. I'll definitely be back!

This was my second stay at the W Hotel within three months, and once again, I was thoroughly impressed. The front desk kindly arranged a high-floor room, and the view from the window was absolutely captivating. From the concierge to the buffet restaurant and the swimming pool, all the staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was attentive and meticulous. Both stays have been very satisfying, and I highly recommend it.

The location is fantastic. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are great, although the outdoor one can get a bit too sunny. The service was decent, but it felt understaffed during peak hours. We were on the 8th floor, and while the view was good, directly facing the Oriental Pearl Tower, I wish we could have been a bit higher.

Didn't expect to be so touched by a hotel stay! The front desk service was incredibly thoughtful, and the hotel's location is fantastic – right next to a night market and commercial area, perfect for an evening stroll and some delicious food. This kind of warm, personal service is really rare; it felt like being looked after by a friend. I definitely have to come back next time!

Hands down the best hotel in Shanghai for views. The service was also very attentive, though personally, I found the breakfast just okay.

We’ve been staying in the Cool corner room 3 of us with my 8yo son for three nights. Room was perfect, design was exciting, the extravagant room/bathroom combination is stunning. Breakfast was offering 5star quality options for kids as well. No better place to take photos about Shanghai skyscrapers and the Bund. We understand the outdoor pool closes early as it’s just next to the bar, but it was difficult to explain to my son ;-) Easy transportation, DiDi or metro just right at the door, also there are many options for dinner in the hotel or nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at W Shanghai – The Bund and would definitely choose to stay here again. The hotel is stylish, very clean, and the facilities are excellent. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. We really appreciated that they accommodated a late check-out after our flight was delayed, which made the end of our trip much less stressful. The breakfast buffet had a fantastic selection of both Western and Chinese dishes, with plenty of variety each morning. We also enjoyed spending time at the outdoor pool and fitness centre, both of which were well maintained. One of the highlights was the outdoor bar area overlooking the Bund – it’s a beautiful place to relax in the evening with amazing views of the Shanghai skyline. The location is excellent and within walking distance of the Bund, making it easy to explore the area on foot. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would highly recommend W Shanghai – The Bund to anyone visiting Shanghai. It offers great service, excellent facilities, and an unforgettable view.

Extremely satisfied with this beloved hotel! I stayed at the Peace Hotel the day before, and in comparison, the W Hotel is definitely more suited for a slightly younger crowd. The room views are absolutely fantastic, and the breakfast is also better than at the Peace Hotel. I'll definitely stay here again next time. I've already recommended it to a friend who's coming to Shanghai in mid-July.

Aside from the excellent location and views, the W Shanghai doesn't feel like a luxury hotel. Turndown service was perfunctory, and the facilities and amenities were very average. If this price only buys you a view, then it's not good value for money at all. There are many luxury hotels in Shanghai with great service and amenities, and equally good views. The W really needs to improve on this. I don't recommend it; it's completely overpriced.
