The Bund Puyan Hotel, Shanghai

A friend suggested this hotel I normally stay in another hotel when in Central hotel. However after the exceptional service we received by all the staff especially the porters and door staff lead by the incredible Mr Wu his service was worthy of mention. The location is wonderful with great views to the city and Suzhou creek and Pudong and nestled amongst beautiful early last century British architecture. A short walk to great coffee spots and restaurants of all types. The best thing it is two blocks work to Nanjing rd shopping area and metro station metro line 2 which takes you to both airports and fast train station. But unlike staying on Nanjing road I didn’t get hassled constantly to buy fake bags or clothing and wasn’t asked once if I wanted a massage. So I highly recommend this lovely hotel with old world charm and service. My room was a great size and comfortable

We had a wonderful stay at The Bund Puyan Hotel! The service from the staff was exceptional - friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Our room with a river view was spacious, spotless, and offered an incredible view of the skyline including e.g. Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the Bund, Nanjing Road, and the metro station, making it easy to explore the city. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Shanghai

Had positive expectations of this hotel but was greatly disappointed. Location is alright but what really annoyed me was the room. Our room had direct sun coming into the unit and it heats up the whole room. At some point, i was perspiring when I was in the room. What made it worse was the supposed air conditioning unit inside the room. Despite changing to air con function, it only blows out freaking hot air in an already hot room. Called up the front desk, they tell me its control by a central system so can only blow hot air now. My husband commented that even the corridor outside our room is cooler than the room itself. Didnt enjoy my stay at all and definitely not coming back. Saving grace was the staff who helped us book a driver to get to our next destination that was 1.5h away. He also managed to get us a good price.
