Sheraton Shanghai Chongming Hotel Reviews

This is our second favorite hotel in Chongming. We got an upgrade to a family room, and my little one absolutely loved it! The room came with Lego bricks, a tent ⛺, and dolls. The indoor playground is also very kid-friendly.

Came to Chongming for a weekend getaway with colleagues and specifically chose this hotel. The location is convenient, the environment is very elegant, and the facilities are complete. Our butler, Marina, was kind and responsible, making us feel right at home. It was a great experience, and we'll definitely come back again!

The room was spacious and very clean, and the surroundings were beautiful and tidy. We could even see the sunrise in the morning! The breakfast was delicious and really hit the spot, and the afternoon tea was excellent too. The service was wonderful and very friendly.

We were celebrating our child's birthday, and the hotel, knowing this, upgraded our room. The only minor downside was that the room was quite a walk, taking a while to get to. They also surprised us with a birthday cake. Facilities: The kids' play area was pretty good and spacious. The swimming pool also had a separate kiddie pool, which was nice, though it was a bit chilly on the day we went, not warm enough. After we mentioned it, it was much warmer the next day. Breakfast: The food was pretty standard. I was a bit disappointed that there were no cherry tomatoes, especially since the breakfast at the villas had them.

I visited the Sheraton Chongming for the first time on a whim. Usually, I stay at pet-friendly hotels like Grand Hyatt Jinmao since I travel with my dog. This was my first time at a Sheraton property, and overall, I had a good experience, from check-in to exploring, dinner, and breakfast! The only downside was that the kids' play area closed at 8 PM. On holidays, dinner often finishes around that time, and my little one wanted to play on the slide, but we were told it was already closed. The hotel's surroundings are quite remote, so I hope they consider extending the operating hours of recreational facilities for the convenience of guests.

The hotel service was excellent, from the security staff in the parking lot to the front desk, everyone was very friendly. Our initial room smelled of smoke, so they kindly moved us to a ground-floor room with a patio, which was absolutely lovely with sunlight streaming into the yard.

Hotel manager made such a complication of the room booking and chose 9:30km to come to talk with us to resolve it. Complete disregard for the quality of our stay

All in all this hotel is a very good stay, we had a very pleasant time and - if there's another opportunity to be in the surrounding - we will assuredly choose the Sheraton Hotel again! When it comes to the location, it is very subjective ... You want to be next to the Golf course, then it is a perfect location, but if you wish to be at a place where food outlets and transportation services are abundant, then no. If you don't have a car, you are stuck!! ... Chongming has such a potential to make a tramway system such the better choice: cleaner, easier to go from various points throughout the whole island, more convenient and cheaper to build than a subway system ... but no, polluting cars everywhere instead. Concerning the service, the hotel staff was nice, polite, and helpful, but it lacked the feeling of being welcomed and appreciating the role they have (which are traits we'd noticed while in smaller hotels like Ibis). The rooms were clean, comfortable, well lit, and didn't feel much damp (there's a need to switch on the AC at times to dry up the air a bit at times) We also very much appreciated the swimming pool (clean), the gym (quite a few choices - although some treadmills felt old and out of service: time to remove a few to upgrade or put another piece of equipment instead), and the overall facility. The breakfast was large in its choice with quite a few dishes made on the spot, which i really appreciated, you can feel the freshness of the food being just made; however, i can't say the same for many other choices which were distinctively regular frozen food, with no typical flavour representing a 5-star hotel such as the Sheraton, there is much improvement to make in that aspect. Once more, this Sheraton is a safe choice if staying in that part of the island, we had a very pleasant time ... but there are still some areas which need attention in order to make this hotel a definite address to go back to again and again (instead of solely depending on the golf course).

Good location near the bridge and wetlands. The room is big, buffet is good. Very good service.

Satisfied about everything. This is our new go to place as a family. Highly recommend to couple and family. Great service.

Excellent. Great hospitality, good buffet restaurant, very quiet. If the location is what you are looking for, that's absolutely perfect for a relaxing weekend.
