This is a safe, clean hostel. Good for solo travelers. Centrally located. The bed was not very comfortable, but the bedding was clean. Nice bathroom. My room had 4 beds. I had a bottom bunk. AC worked well. There is a hot-water machine in the lobby. Towels can be rented for 5 RMB. Ride-sharing bikes can be rented out front. There is a public bath house about 1/2 a KM away.

The room was smaller than what it looked like in the picture and the carpet in the passage had a strong smell of cigarettes. The staff is helpful and welcoming.

Great location and friendly staff.
Small rooms but decent beds, definetly recommend booking a room with a window.
Only downside was the cigarette stench in our room, even though it was supposed to be a non smoking room.
Still recommend for as a budget option - great to Explorer Shanghai by foot/metro.

Pleasently surprised by this hotel. Was looking for a budget stay in the area, and overall happy with it.
The check-in staff was very friendly, the room is clean, towels are changed every day.
My only issue, but this is the same even with hotels double or triple the price, is that the noise insulation is not good, and you can hear your neighbors walking around and talking.
Another thing to be aware, but this is not the hotel's fault, is that there is a construction site or something nearby, you can hear some big machines making noise at 4-5AM, had to wear noise canceling earphones to get some sleep.
Other than that the location is great, a lot of places to eat nearby and drink nearby. I haven't taken the subway this time but it's quite close.

Location is not bad at all, but it’s a bit hide so you need to pay attention.
Parts of the hotel or at least in my room smelled a cigarette when according to the policy that was forbidden.

The service was very friendly and speak good English, you can pay with a foreign credit card (which seems to be rare in China) nowadays. I stayed one night in the Mini room with a double night and enjoyed the stay. The wifi was good enough to watch a movie fluently and to have video calls!
The only thing is that there is no window (only one to the corridor), so the air is not that fresh all the time, especially after taking a shower.
