Shangri-La Runjing Muqi B&B

10/10 highly recommended for people looking for a peaceful getaway. The view from this homestay is superb. Room is very comfortable with bed and floor warmer, very cosy in the cold weather. Peaceful ambience. Although place is located a little further from city centre, there is no problem getting a Didi ride. The host is very friendly and ferried us whenever he's available too. He even brought us for local fare and got us a discount for the horse ride. All staff, including the chef, are very friendly. The latter whipped up healthy and hearty fare for breakfast. Will definitely return to this peaceful retreat.

The hotel was amazing - beautiful surrounding, good amenities and staff were amazing and attentive. Room was really beautiful and huge. They even have a nook for you to hang out and have tea. They even offered to send us to the train station for free. Overall amazing stay and highly recommended. The only improvement I want to suggest is while we appreciate that they helped send our luggage to the train station which we had agreed for 4:00 pm, they came at 5:10pm and we were really anxious that we would miss the 5:25pm train. The hotel told us not to worry and said there’s plenty of time but we actually boarded less than 5 mins before the train departed and as a result we couldn’t find space to store our luggage as the storage was full. We hope the hotel takes this input seriously as we’re foreigners and not so familiar with how the station works here so ample time to get things done are needed. Anyways I would still stay here again cause the place is amazing and staff were great.

We had such a great stay here! The staff were extremely hospitable and super helpful and friendly. they waited for us to check in even though we were arriving late and opened the kitchen till late to accommodate us. The dinner and breakfast that we had was really yummy and portion was good! The rooms were amazing - beautiful view and very well furnished. It was really well designed. The view was amazing and you can even see stars at night if the sky is clear. They also had a cute dog on the compound! The only issue we had was that it was quite far from the city centre and attractions in general but it also meant that it was extremely quiet and peaceful (if that is what you are looking for!) Do note that it is really dark at night to drive in and that a section of the road may be flooded which makes accessing the hotel slightly dangerous (we saw a car drove into the drain as the flooding maybe it difficult to see where the road was). Of course that is not the fault of the hotel but it is definitely something to note. there’s nothing around the hotel so you’ll need to make sure you’ve food with you if you get hungry at night It also doesn’t have any lifts and might not be suited for elderly folks.

This place is a real hidden gem! It was off to great start from the moment the host picked me up from the station, the drive there was unforgettable, passing through the grasslands with horses and cows grazing against the majestic mountain backdrop. My room has floor-to-ceiling windows with an unblocked view of mountains, blue skies and the vast Napa Hai, it was absolutely breathtaking to wake up to. One highlight was the peaceful atmosphere, you can just sit outside, sip tea, watch the mountains in silence and be one with nature. At night the whole sky lit with stars! All the staff were warm and welcoming, they always make me feel just at home. The chef’s tomato eggs were especially delicious, the best! There’s even a playful little Westie running around all time, who adds so much charm to the stay. Overall, I would choose this over a hotel anytime, I’d happily come back again, maybe in winter.
