Beautiful location and hotel at the top of the mountain. Mountain View from the room, clean and comfortable beds. Would book again.

This place is all about the views and the peace and quiet. The couple operating the guest house were helpful in arranging a return car shuttle to Lijiang (80 RMB for the jump seat in a questionable vehicle with a wobble at most speeds). Even the laundry area has a great view! The view, the view, the view.

A beautiful, local family-run guesthouse with the best views. 100% recommend staying here—it’s only a 20-30 min walk along the road on from Tina’s Guesthouse, which is bigger and feels more commercialised. The couple who run this are so kind, offering us free corn that they grew, letting us shower after a hike to the lower gorge even after checking out, and driving us back to Tina’s for our bus to Shangrila at no extra charge.

Clean, well furnished room with perfect view. English speaking boss 👍 Good advice for hiking, and drove us to the start of the high trail. Best breakfast in China, we stayed for 3 days and got different dishes every morning including apple&walnut pancake, banana pancake, omelette - yummi. We also decided to have dinner here, also here: big variety of dishes to choose from and everything we tried tasted very, very well And a plus for us: Separate entrances, we could park our bicycles right in front of the room to unload

Joy's guesthouse is for those who want a bit more peace and quiet. Even though it is only about 2km down the road from Tina's Guest House and the bus depot, it feels like a world away from the crowds. Even though it is well catered to guests, we were still able to catch glimpses of people living their lives tending to the fields and animals. The food was delicious and plenty and made fresh on the spot! We loved the dumplings and they even accommodated our request of wrapping it up then reheating them for our next day's lunch. The room was spacious and came with all the mod cons, including built in heating for the bathroom and heating/air con unit for the room. Even having said all that, the most spectacular thing about the room had to be the view. The giant windows over looking the rice terraces, Yulong snow mountain and the roaring river was something out of a movie!!!! And on top of that, Joy was extremely helpful when the strong winds prevented my drone was returning back to me, she took us in her car to successfully retrieve it. I can't recommend Joy's guesthouse highly enough! Tip: take the Ray of sunshine route (take a right about 500m after arriving at Tina's guesthouse). You will need to pay 15CNY to get down to the gorge, we'll worth it, then another 15CNY to take the Ray of Sunshine path to Sean's guest house (which is just down the road from Joy's). The latter path was one of our favourites as we had the path all to ourselves!

Great rooms with great views. With an even better meal (the best rice noodle I’ve ever eaten). It’s a bit further from Linda’s (the end of the trail) but it was definitely worth it.
