I highly recommend Yuetiao Youth Hostel! The location is superb, right by the North Gate of Dukezong Ancient City. It's just a few minutes' walk to Moonlight Square and Guishan Park, and it's incredibly convenient for carpooling to Deqin and Feilai Temple. The rooms are clean and tidy, with privacy curtains for each bed and individual lockers, providing a great sense of security. The common lounge has an amazing atmosphere, full of backpackers and hikers, making it easy to find travel companions. The owner, Brother Ming, is an experienced outdoor enthusiast who knows all the routes in Shangri-La and along the Meili Snow Mountain area. He patiently offers travel advice and helps arrange carpools. There's 24-hour hot water, and self-service laundry and drying facilities are available. This hostel is a top choice for solo travelers and hiking enthusiasts, offering great value for money. It's the perfect place to stay when you visit Shangri-La!

The host was very friendly and the location was great. There was only one bathroom for the whole floor. Guests smoke nonstop in the hall despite of the non-smoking sign.

The owner's cat is really cute and friendly. The environment is great, and the people are easy to get along with.

The location is right in the heart of the old town, the bed is very comfortable, and the common areas are quite cozy.

This was my first hostel experience, and I was quite satisfied. It was affordable and very clean. Plus, the little cat finally interacted with me before I left! 🥳

The owner, Brother Ming, is exceptionally kind, warm, and attentive. The hostel environment is clean and tidy, and the common areas have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The beds in the rooms are comfortable, it's conveniently located, and offers excellent value for money!

This hostel was amazing. The owner/receptionist is the nicest man you’ll ever meet. He really is welcoming and can give you cool tips for thing to do around the area. He ever let us know when there was a rainbow in the rootfot to check it up with him. He’ll stay forever in my heart.

Super good location, the guy is chill, and perfect if you want to stay in the center of the old town

The boss is fantastic, he helped me out in many ways. Storing my bicycle for me for 2 months while I sorted my visa and when I returned gave me fantastic advice on my route through china. The hostel is comfortable, well located and has a great vibe easy to meet people (even as a foreigner). Would definitely stay here again.

Service was good, allowed an early check in and extra night without much trouble, the place is very social and an extremely good location The only thing I would say is the bathrooms. This is not coming from a foreigner that is not used to squat bathrooms. They were just very dirty and smelled like urine all day. Only one shower for a whole floor One of the toilet doors wouldn’t close

Don't expect a luxurious accommodation, but you can enjoy a real hiking hostel vibe. (Which is, from my point of view, even better). The owner doesn't speak English, but with the help of Google translate and some other guests, he gave me recommendations for hiking in the area. The location is also great, right at the end of the old town. The place felt really cozy, like a second home
