"Hands down the best hotel you could find in Shangri-La! We received the warmest welcome imaginable, and the value for money is unbeatable. The location is incredibly strategic, situated right near the Dukezong Ancient City North Gate. It’s the perfect pick-up/drop-off point for any travel package or e-hailing ride. As a foreign traveler in China, communication can be a challenge, but the staff here speak basic English, are genuinely friendly, and go above and beyond to help. The amenities are top-notch. The best part is the floor/room heating—despite the freezing temperatures outside, we felt perfectly warm inside. They really thought of everything to make the high altitude comfortable: the room included an oxygen machine, portable heater, and humidifier. We would definitely stay here again. It was the flawless stay we were hoping for. Highly recommended!"

"Beautiful Tibetan-style design, helpful hosts, and great location easily walkable to the ancient city. I love that there are so many cats on the property. Communication with the hosts pre-arrival and during my stay was excellent and easy. They are responsive and assisted a lot with recommendations and useful info. The only thing I did not find satisfactory was that the bathtub required the use of a bathtub cover, otherwise it leaks water. It is not the most comfortable to have a bath with plastic on the skin, plus the plastic tears easily so even with the cover it may still leak water. However, the water runs nice and hot, plenty to have a good bath."

"Rooms were clean and beautiful. Bathroom was amazing (heater and heated toilet seats). The service was also welcoming and accommodating, with the owners being incredibly friendly. One area of improvement could be to have additional amenities such as luggage rack, a mirror outside the toilet, hand soap and body lotion. Nevertheless, the stay at this hotel was lovely, and the location is right at the perimeter of the Dukezong Ancient City, making it very convenient to explore. Take note that currently (28 Dec 2025) their dryers are not working well. It might be faster to just hang and air dry your clothes instead of waiting (took us a whole night to dry in the dryer). Nevertheless, this was a great stay, will consider staying here again."

"We had a truly amazing experience in the hotel. Great hospitality, great view and great interior designs. Our two teenagers suffered from altitude sickness, but the hotel staff (esp Mr Dong Zhen Dong) took care of us with care and professionalism, making us feel like family. We had to cancel our scheduled outings due to our kids’ health, however the hotel surrounding itself is a wonderful scenic spot. Beautiful views with very instagrammable photo spots at the hotel. My kids loved the farm animals (sheep, horses and a white yak). We could also walk out to the lake where the animals were grazing and the birds were chilling. It was a truly national geographic moment for us. Star gazing at night from our balcony was a huge surprise too. In the evening we had a lovely family time chilling around the fireplace at their chic cafe. The entire place was so beautiful and comfortable. Their staff was very friendly and attentive too The hotel’s complimentary cool ride to the airport was a sweet end to our Yunnan trip. Thank you Muka Monor for an outstanding hotel experience!"

"The guesthouse had an excellent overall environment. The entire house was spotless, with no unpleasant odors. All facilities were provided, including disposable toiletries. The stay was perfect, exceeding expectations for value. The bedding was very comfortable and soft, and every corner was spotless, making for a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The clean and refreshing environment was incredibly peaceful. I highly recommend it! The natural light was great, and the owner was very attentive, welcoming, and hospitable. Everything was smart home technology – simply wonderful! The lobby was very pleasant and clean, and the location was convenient, situated in the heart of the ancient city, close to all the attractions. The guesthouse also had a very large viewing platform with stunning views. The owner was also quite handsome, haha!"

"This was the best cozy hotel. It was a beyond my expectations. The place is sparkling clean , nice and cozy. The afternoon tea set was so thoughtful. Breakfast was better than restaurant. On the way we checked out, the lady rushed to us and gave us a full of little oranges and tea for gift. I wish we had stayed in ShangriLa more because of this hotel."

"We had a wonderful stay at this BanYe Manor. Breakfast was lovely, and the hotel’s location on top of the mountain offered a truly magnificent view of the Yila Grassland.. the kind that makes you pause and just breathe it in.😭😭🩵 The staff were warm, friendly, and very responsive on WeChat, helping us with recommendations and getting around. Getting a DIDI from the hotel was easy and fuss-free. The coffee was surprisingly great too. What really made this stay unforgettable were the animals — goats roaming freely all day and the hotel’s three affectionate dogs who clearly loved hugs. It felt like a beautiful, peaceful farm stay and created memories we’ll keep for a long time. Truly a fun and special stay. I already wish I could come back. The staff was so sweet too, before check out they knew we needed our morning coffee so they made coffee for us, but so sad we left before we could have some 😭😭"
