GGuest UserThe facilities are really complete, and they even have oxygen supply. I especially want to mention how pet-friendly they are – everyone loves dogs! We brought two dogs with us, and the owner's family also has a cute little dog. Plus, the owner and other staff are all very enthusiastic. The room was super clean; I'm very picky about accommodation, and this place truly exceeded my expectations.

This stay was truly captivating, and the owner's hospitality captivated me! My sister highly recommended this homestay in Dukezong Ancient Town. The owner, Zhuoma, proactively asked about our itinerary from the moment we booked. Upon arrival, she not only provided a detailed and practical guide to Shangri-La, but also shared tips on hidden gems and pitfalls to avoid. It was even more reliable than a handy guide.
The most heartwarming thing was that as soon as we dropped off our luggage, the owner brought us hot yak milk. It warmed me up and instantly dispelled my travel fatigue. The amenities were even more amazing. The entire home is equipped with smart home technology, allowing for voice control of lights and curtains, making it incredibly easy to use. The furniture is all brand new and high-quality, and it's clear the owner put a lot of thought into the renovations, making the stay both comfortable and technologically advanced.
The view from the window is incredibly thoughtful, and this homestay is simply divine!
The room I stayed in this time truly took full advantage of its ”view room” status. In the morning, as I pulled back the heavy blackout curtains, the view before me was breathtaking: directly across from me was the lush greenery of Guishan Park, and the large prayer wheel atop the mountaintop was so clear it seemed almost palpable. Especially in the evening, the setting sun cast a warm glow on the prayer wheel, and even the people circumambulating the park could be vaguely seen. I didn't have to squeeze into the crowds at the observation deck; I could quietly enjoy this unique view from my room. The photos I took and posted on WeChat Moments were met with inquiries about the address.
Even more touching was the thoughtful attention to detail at the B&B. Considering the local climate and altitude, an oxygen concentrator was pre-installed in the room. The owner came to teach me how to use it. When I occasionally felt a little hypoxic at night, I turned it on and immediately felt much better. Hanging in the closet was a thick, complimentary down jacket. The clean, simple design meant I didn't have to carry heavy clothing, and I wore it when I went out to visit the park or see the prayer wheels, offering both windproof and warmth. This thoughtful consideration of the guests' needs was even more heartwarming than the scenery itself. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting! When we checked out, the owner even prepared a Vajra knot, a local ******* gift, for my girlfriend and me. It was a thoughtful gesture, and it was truly heartwarming. The entire experience was not only comfortable, but also felt like visiting a friend's home. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

I had a wonderful stay here! Even though I booked the cheapest room, it was huge and even came with a bathtub. One of the best features was the oxygen machine, which was kept on to ensure I could breathe comfortably and sleep well—a lifesaver in this altitude!
The hospitality was truly superb. The owners are so kind; they picked me up at the North Gate and even arranged a taxi for my departure to the Railway Station. Take note I only stayed for a night. The lounge is also great, with snacks, fruits, and water always available. Plus, the location is perfect—just steps away from Dukezong Old Street, making exploring very convenient.

I came to Shangri-La only expecting to see snow-capped mountains, but this B&B completely won me over!
Who can say no to being warmly welcomed by two fluffy little kittens and a super well-behaved Samoyed as soon as you enter? 🥹 My heart just melted; it felt like a pet-cuddling vacation!
The room really hit all the right notes for me!!
The cozy fireplace created such a wonderful ambiance. At night, I snuggled on the sofa watching the cats cuddle, with the dog quietly lying beside me. Outside was Shangri-La's chilly breeze, but inside, it was so warm I didn't want to leave. 🌬️
The bathroom with separate wet and dry areas, clean bedding, and thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge and tea set – the attention to detail was incredible, it truly felt like I had brought my home here!
Breakfast was super therapeutic too!
The freshly cooked Yunnan rice noodles were incredibly authentic, served with corn, steamed eggs, and dim sum. The dog would lie by the window, keeping me company, and the cats and dogs got along so well, constantly nuzzling each other – it was just too cute, this is what travel is all about!
The owner also offers free ******* clothing for photos! There's a wide variety of ******* robes and shawls, allowing you to take stunning, atmospheric photos right at the B&B, without needing to rent from outside – so convenient! ✨

Navigation is super easy! It's only a 15-minute drive from Shangri-La Station and very close to Napa Lake. After exploring, you can come back and cuddle with the cats – it's truly a healing utopia in Shangri-La!

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, right across from Dukezong's East Gate, making it super convenient for meals and exploring the old town. There's a spacious parking lot right in front of the hotel. The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and proactively upgraded me to a family room. The room was very spacious and clean, with double sinks and even disposable face towels. I had an excellent rest, and the breakfast spread was also generous. When checking out, the front desk even gave me a small gift. I was too busy unpacking when I checked in to take photos, so these pictures were just snapped quickly as I was about to leave, a bit messy. All in all, after driving all this way, this hotel absolutely deserves a five-star review! 👍

Before sharing details about our stay, we would like to give special recognition to several team members whose outstanding service made such a positive impact on our experience: 麦克, 小钢, Alan, 小罗, and 小雨. Each of them demonstrated exceptional professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. We are writing this review in large part because we hope management is aware of their incredible efforts, as they truly represent the very best of the hotel’s hospitality.
Even before we arrived, the team created a WeChat group and warmly welcomed us, making us feel cared for from the very beginning. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Upon arrival, the staff helped carry our very heavy luggage to our room and consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time at the hotel. After check-in, 麦克 gave us a detailed tour of the room and thoughtfully explained how to use the oxygen supply, which immediately put us at ease. He was also incredibly helpful in recommending places to visit and things to do in the area. His advice, including reminding us not to shower on our first night due to the high altitude, helped us acclimatize comfortably and avoid altitude-related discomfort.
We also had the opportunity to make flower candles during our stay, which was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to 小钢, who patiently guided us through the activity and even carefully packed our finished candles so beautifully that all we had to do was pick them up and bring them home the next day. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful example of the attention to detail that made our stay so special.
One of the highlights was the beautiful property and the adorable animals on-site. Alan even took the time to cut fresh carrots for us to feed the goats, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more enjoyable.
The hospitality never stopped, no matter how late it was. We returned to the hotel around 11pm one evening after a long day of exploring, and 麦克 prepared comforting hot dessert soup for us (despite it being past the time for dessert soup). It was exactly what we needed and such a memorable gesture that made us feel truly cared for.
Another moment that stood out was late one night when we realized we needed extra towels and pillows. 小罗 responded quickly and kindly helped us get everything we needed despite the late hour. His willingness to assist us so promptly made us feel incredibly well looked after and was yet another example of the outstanding service we experienced throughout our stay.
We were also especially grateful to 小雨 for helping us navigate a Taobao return during our stay, which could have been quite complicated without her assistance. Several other staff members also kindly helped with collecting my package. Their teamwork and willingness to assist with something beyond the usual scope of hotel services truly impressed us.
As our trip came to an end, Alan kindly drove us to the train station early in the morning and gave us a warm send-off. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful stay and reflected the genuine care and hospitality we experienced throughout our time at the hotel.
The warmth, attentiveness, and sincerity shown by every member of the team made our experience in Shangri-La truly wonderful. Every interaction reflected a level of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find, and their genuine care played a significant role in making this trip so memorable.
We are incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La. We will definitely be back!

The hotel is perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist crowds. It offers a peaceful sanctuary overlooking the stunning Napa Lake, with majestic mountains framing the distance. Waking up to such a quiet, picturesque landscape was incredibly rejuvenating. That said, be mindful that this would come with a trade off in terms of convenience.
The room itself was exceptional, blending modern amenities with high-end comforts. We were especially impressed by the features designed for the high-altitude environment:
• High-Tech Comfort: The room included oxygen control and a humidifier, which made a massive difference in our comfort.
• Entertainment & Relaxation: We loved the large projector and screen for cozy movie nights, and the deep soaking bathtub was perfect for unwinding.
Exceptional Hospitality & Care
What truly sets this place apart is the genuine care provided by the owner and the staff:
• Warm Welcome: The owner personally fetched us on our first day, surprised us with a room upgrade, and even pre-heated the room before we arrived.
• Safety & Service: He provided an oxygen canister for emergencies, giving us total peace of mind. The friendly caretaker from Dali was also wonderful, preparing delicious meals and ensuring we were well-looked after.
• Local Experiences: The owner gave us expert travel tips and drove us to Pudacuo National Park at a very reasonable rate. The highlight was being invited to his thome to share Suyou (butter) tea, local bread with cheese and wild honey with his family. This was a raw experience that we found very meaningful
While our stay was fantastic, there were a couple of minor maintenance points that would make the stay better:
• Housekeeping: Some of the toiletries were not replenished during our two-night stay.
• Bathroom Maintenance: The shower head was not fixed very securely, and there was some visible limescale. We understand this might be due to the current season and lower occupancy, but a quick fix would make the room perfect.
Overall, this is a gateway to the heart of Shangri-La. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking peace, luxury, and a genuine local connection.

The breakfast although is not much but it’s enough to fill your tummy full as their also cook it freshly everyday .. the mi xian is a must try (can order from them directly) .. the hotel location is also in the Dukezong area by walking distance of 10mins you may reach the turtle hill which is also one of the must visit location to have a experience with prayer wheel but must advance order the slot before able to enter via WeChat app (can do it on the site before entering) . Free laundry self service also a bonus point to consider this hotel !! Overall very happy with the stay .. everyone come by here Shangri-la will definitely recommend this hotel!!!
