Channel View Hotel

Booked after reading reviews. Cannot think this was the same hotel that I thought would be good after I had read them. Food was dreadful. Hardly cooked veg and rotten potatoes. Inedible. Room was dirty with soiled bedding. Never again would stay at this hotel.

The pillows were awful need replacing wouldn't have gone if I'd known but took notice of other reviews none of which I recognised. The meals were pretty dire porage was a solid block needed a knife and fork. Continental breakfast was a slice of cheese out of a packet and slice of cheap ham and a croissant which was raw in the middle served on a warm plate. Cold poached eggs on hot toast. Not one decent meal. Stay

Very quiet time of year so only a few guests at the hotel. Hotel was clean and there were very friendly staff who acknowledged you as you passed by. Great breakfast with choices of English or croissant and toast, cereals and fruit. We had a great sea view but the only downside was poor or no tv signal so was unable to watch anything. Some nice pub/restaurants on the promenade with a friendly atmosphere and nice food. Great outdoor seating area for when the weather is good too. As we went out of season the hotel restaurant was closed as was any entertainment although the bar was open if you wanted a drink. I’d definitely go back to Channel View hotel in Shanklin but when the weather was more settled.

A Lovely hotel, very clean with large bedrooms. The towels were changed every day during our 4 night stay, lovely hot water also. The food was great, the staff are so friendly especially the wonderful Kimberly in the resturant. Entertainment each evening. Well stocked bar. I can certainly recommend this hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights with 40plus dart players. Great hotel. Terrific and attentive staff. Nothing was a problem. Breakfast was excellent as were the bar meals and Sunday roast. Would definitely recommend. Great location and our room had a lovely view of the channel. Excellent manager and receptionist. Thank you John and Kim.

Lovely Hotel with great staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Great breakfast too to start the day. Wonderful views clean rooms, comfortable beds. If you're ever visiting the Isle of Wight I'd definitely recommend staying here. We were here playing County darts but would stay again if ever visiting.

The staff were brilliant and very friendly and helpful' Rooms were very clean and items replenished everyday. In fact the whole stay was excellent and cannot wait to go back John the bar manager was very friendly and Kim the manager was brilliant as was all the staff even down to the cleaning staff

Had a great time, very nice hotel and all the staff were brilliant, very friendly and go out of the way to make your visit enjoyable. Rooms were comfortable and nice and warm with everything thing you need. Will definitely stay here again when we visit

Community trip of 42 - everyone was/is happy. Comfy beds, staff that go above & beyond, kind, courteous, polite & helpful, good menu selection, good size portions. Excellent value for money & we will definately be back! Very clean & tidy, lovely location.
