Xianheng Hotel

Facilities: This hotel is pretty much top-tier in Shaoxing. All things considered, it's only about 200 meters to Lu Xun's former residence, directly accessible via a back alley. It's also super convenient for visiting all the surrounding attractions like the residences of the Premier, Qiu Jin, and the Sage of Calligraphy. Guests get free parking, so you can just dump any souvenirs or Huangjiu (yellow wine) directly in your car. This alone outshines most other local hotels, not to mention its century-old brand, and their self-produced and sold Huangjiu, fava beans, and pastries. Plus, the new building at the front offers a great living experience; despite the hotel's age, the new building has a high-end, new-Chinese style, reminiscent of a five-star hotel. Service: Incredibly thoughtful. Cici, as our butler, proactively added us on WeChat, and her service was impeccable throughout. You can just relax and enjoy your trip; any needs can be directly communicated to the butler. When cleaning the room, they even brought children's slippers and toothbrushes directly to us. Overall, it's especially suitable for children around ten years old coming for an 'educational trip.' After all, Baicaoyuan to Sanwei Study is something kids will learn about sooner or later, so staying at this hotel is perfect for reinforcing those memories.

Our hotel butler, Dan, was incredibly attentive and the room was fully equipped with all the amenities we needed. He even provided a Shaoxing travel guide with sightseeing recommendations, which was very helpful. We could ask him anything at any time during our stay. The hotel's location and environment are excellent; it's just a 5-minute walk to Lu Xun's former residence. It's a great hotel for travelers! Highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious, especially the braised pork with preserved vegetables – it was the best! It would be even better if they had fried stinky tofu. The coffee wasn't great. The room was really nice, pretty, charming, and well-equipped. The bedding was also excellent. I'll definitely book again next time. It's a great hotel with excellent service!

Overall, I was satisfied, and the staff were quite enthusiastic. However, they don't provide complimentary toiletries and don't inform guests beforehand. This meant I had to ask for them just before getting ready for bed, which wasted some of my rest time! There's definitely room for improvement here. The breakfast was pretty good; I just hope they can improve the quality of their Western pastries and bread, though the Chinese dishes were all excellent!

It's very close to Lu Xun's former residence, just a few minutes' walk away. The parking lot is huge, so parking is really convenient... The room was spacious and comfortable, but the window overlooked residential buildings, so there was no view.

Traveling with kids, the main goal is to avoid unnecessary detours. The hotel's location is excellent; you can take a Wupeng boat right outside, and it's not far from any of the attractions. It might have been the Qingming holiday, so the breakfast area was quite crowded, but every staff member was very diligent and responsible, and the food was replenished promptly. On the last day, there were probably fewer tourists, and the supervisor at the restaurant's front desk and Sister Xiao Yan even made beautiful yogurts for us. We were very happy ❤️

The service was excellent, especially Cici the butler. She added me on WeChat beforehand which made it easy to communicate my needs and she also shared many useful guides. Upon check-in, they upgraded my room and a dedicated staff member showed me to it. The location is incredibly convenient, right next to Lu Xun's former residence. A night tour of Shen Garden was also a fantastic experience.

As a Diamond member, I rarely write reviews. I stayed here with friends, and we booked three rooms in total. The most expensive one was the courtyard twin room, but the courtyard was incredibly dirty. It looked like it was almost never cleaned, and the chairs were unusable. When I brought it up with the hotel, they asked me to add them on WeChat and offered me a 'returning customer price' for my next stay. Upon checkout, I accidentally left a valuable facial cleanser in the hotel. I only realized it the next day when I opened my toiletry bag. I contacted the hotel, and they told me they hadn't found anything even before confirming my room number. It took several minutes into the call for them to finally ask for my room number. This clearly shows their dismissive attitude towards guests.
