Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts properties in Shenzhen

This hotel is our top choice for family vacations with kids – the experience was absolutely fantastic! We got a complimentary upgrade to the Executive Floor during check-in, which was much quieter than the main building. The Executive Floor has its own breakfast area, so there were no long queues. It was spacious and comfortable, and the food was exquisite, which made the kids very happy. The hotel also has a private beach that’s clean and not crowded, with soft sand, so the little ones could play and dig without a worry. The family-friendly facilities are in the main building, with a well-equipped kids' club and plenty of activities to keep the children entertained and burn off their energy. Overall, it's a peaceful and relaxing place. I highly recommend coming during off-peak holidays for a wonderful beach vacation vibe, a great alternative to Sanya.

Just got back from Shenzhen, and my stay at this InterContinental was really comfortable. The room had a great view, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline. The bedding was just the right firmness, and I slept soundly all night. The slippers were especially thick and soft, very comfortable to wear. The beef ball noodles at breakfast were perfectly springy – I had two bowls! The location is convenient; it's about a 20-minute drive from the airport, and the Exhibition Center is within walking distance. I particularly want to mention Linda. When I was checking in, she saw I was carrying a laptop bag and proactively chose a quiet, high-floor room for me. The next day, when I asked for directions, she helped me look up the route and even drew a small map, which was really thoughtful. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shenzhen.

The staff's service attitude was really good, especially the outdoor kids' club staff, who were excellent. Breakfast was the most satisfying part. However, the mattress in the room was absolutely terrible. I've never experienced a five-star hotel mattress where the entire bed shakes when one person turns over. Considering that most guests at this hotel are likely families booking this 2-meter king-size bed, those who are light sleepers should seriously reconsider. My husband and I barely slept well. Also, the Utopia kids' club is split into indoor and outdoor sections, and the fact that the indoor part costs extra is quite off-putting. It feels like an in-house hotel facility, yet guests have to pay an additional 200 RMB to use it. I suggest either using different names or clearly stating that the hotel room only includes access to the outdoor play facilities. In fact, the outdoor section was already great and more than sufficient; even the carousel was free, and there was a building block house. The indoor play area feels like it's purely designed to annoy guests.
