"Kojohama Spa Hotel is new, modern, and very clean, with a welcoming lobby where guests can help themselves to free drinks – coffee, tea, apple water, and hot water. It’s a nice touch to be able to grab something the moment you arrive. The onsen is another highlight. It’s open until late and well-equipped with everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc.). The atmosphere is tranquil, away from the city and traffic noise, making it a relaxing retreat for both couples and families. The location itself doesn’t have much right outside – it’s along the highway – but that also makes it a convenient base. The hotel seems popular for its day-use onsen, and it’s also close to the shoreline where crab eateries are scattered. Perfect spot to unwind after a seafood feast. Since it’s a little outside of town, we grabbed sashimi and ready-to-eat food from the supermarket to enjoy back in our room – a simple but satisfying option. The rooms are comfortable, and being a newly built hotel, you’ll find thoughtful touches like smart lighting sensors in the lobby and onsen areas. Overall, a clean, modern, and peaceful stay with a great onsen and easy access to local food spots."

"My husband and I visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were interested in the indoor bath with free-flowing spring water from the Moor Onsen and the teppanyaki course meal, so we were looking forward to going there once. To get straight to the point, we got sick with the oysters that were served right after the teppanyaki course appetizer! I don't know if the smoked food was not cooked properly, or if there was a problem with the freshness of the oysters themselves, but towards the end of the course meal, I felt sick and went to the bathroom, but I felt like I was going to throw up, but I couldn't. After that, I lay down in the room and took stomach medicine, but instead of getting better, I felt worse and worse, and I couldn't even get into the indoor bath. Finally, around midnight, I was hit with strong nausea and spent about an hour in the bathroom, struggling and vomiting, and then I was hit with strong stomach pains and had diarrhea several times until the early hours of the morning. I barely slept and had no energy to eat breakfast at all. When I told the hotel staff that my husband wanted to go to a hospital he had found online, they directed us to another municipal hospital, and a female staff member came into the examination room, and the doctor in charge insisted that it was not food poisoning, and would not listen to my opinion at all. I could only assume that they were in contact with that hospital because they didn't want to have to close the business if food poisoning occurred. Before eating dinner, I had not felt unwell at all, and in fact I was in perfect health and was looking forward to the hotel's course meal, but even though the hotel's ingredients and cooking made us suffer so much, the staff seemed cold and we left the hotel without a single apology from the person in charge. It was the first time in my life that I paid over 30,000 yen per person and suffered such painful food poisoning. I have no choice but to accept that the hospitality was not worth the price, but it ruined our precious anniversary and it was like throwing money down the drain. I never want to go through this again. I don't want anyone who goes here to have to go through the same pain as me, so I dared to write down the facts. Even after I got home, I didn't feel better for a while and I realized how terrible food poisoning can be. I want my money back!"

"It's an old onsen hotel refurbished. Renovation is classic, in 1980s style. Overall clean and tidy. Note there is no shower in room, only toilet and wash basin. You need to go to ground floor public bath for shower and onsen. There isn't many options in Shiraoi town for accommodation. (Understand there's smaller Airbnb type of places available but mostly in japanese language for booking) Probably this is a more generic hotel available."

"This is the Hokkaido branch of KAI, a resort brand of the famous Hoshino Resorts Group. Although it does not quite reach the level of the Hoshino Resorts brand, I could feel the true strength of the service, facilities, and interior design. There are many excellent aspects, such as the structure that elicits admiration right from the entrance, the unique brown-tinged hot spring water, the amazing layout leading from the interior to the open-air bath (especially at sunset), the expansive snowfield visible from the bath, and the well-balanced Kaiseki meals that even foreigners can fully enjoy. It is better to view it as a hotel that borrows the format of a Ryokan rather than a Ryokan itself. The downsides seem to be its location far from downtown Sapporo, the lack of anything nearby except for museums, and the rooms being somewhat plain and small compared to the overall facilities."
