Magnums has been the backpacker hangout in Airlie Beach for thirty years. A great open pub (Beer Garden) facing the street, live music every day, a wide, typically Australian range of drinks at the bar. Airlie Beach has long since ceased to be a pure backpacker destination. Hotels, shopping streets and arcades, many new restaurants, bars and pubs have turned Airlie Beach into a small ”city”. The Magnums is really right in the middle, from here everything is easily accessible on foot. Thanks to the Magnums, the backpacker groove hasn't completely disappeared. Magnums offers accommodation in many varieties! In addition to double rooms with shared bathrooms, I would particularly like to mention the cabin we booked with a ensuite bathroom, toilet. AC and a fridge. The cabins are spacious, almost 30 square meters, have a small terrace and are distributed in the small ”palm jungle” in which all accommodations of the Magnum are hidden. A large kitchen complex is available for the residents of the Magnum (adults only!), which is equipped with everything (cooking stoves, toaster, refrigerators, dining areas, etc.). Dining tables are in front of the kitchen complex and others are scattered throughout the complex. Barbecue areas with dining tables are also distributed throughout the complex. It is charming that there is always a bench or a hammock hidden under the palm trees, where the guests can retreat with a book or the cellphone (the whole complex is very well connected with WiFi). Anyone who can do without the luxury of a five-star facility will be very happy at Magnums. The extremely friendly staff at reception, at the bar and in room service (every 4 days for longer stays) cannot be praised enough. We were looked after excellently and comfortably at reception by Maria. She answered all of our questions, made the bookings for our excursions, ordered the shuttle bus to the airport when we left and fulfilled our every wish during our 14-day stay. Airlie Beach ist schon längst keine reine Backpacker Destination mehr. Hotels, Ladenstrassen und Passagen, viele neue Restaurants, Bars und Pubs haben Airlie Beach zu einer kleinen „Stadt“ werden lassen. Das Magnums liegt wirklich mitten drin, von hier ist alles fussläufig leicht erreichbar. Dank dem Magnums ist der Backpacker-Groove noch nicht ganz verschwunden. Magnums bietet Unterkünfte in vielen Varianten an! Neben Doppelzimmern mit geteilten Badezimmern erwähne ich speziell die von uns gebuchte Cabin mit eigenem Bad, AC und WC soiwe einem Kühlschrank. Die Cabins sind grosszügig, fast 30 Quadratmeter gross, haben eine kleine Terrasse und sind im kleinen „Palmen-Urwald“ in dem alle Unterkünfte des Magnums versteckt sind, verteilt.

The price is good, the location is at the foot of the mountain, the house on the mountain is expensive, the place is on the most lively street, because it is winter, the street is relatively deserted, the large supermarket is across the road, you can walk to the beach in 5 minutes, and the nearby entertainment facilities are complete. Pools, bars, shops and playgrounds are all available.

There are not many hotels of scale in the whole town of Airee Beach. We saw the signs and advertisements of this hotel when we landed at the airport, and we also saw it along the way. When we arrived at the hotel, we found that the hotel is really in the center of the town. In addition to accommodation, there are also restaurants and bars downstairs. The hotel has its own small swimming pool, and you can walk directly to the beach across the road, which can be said to be very, very convenient. How good is the ecological environment? You can feed wild parrots on the balcony, and you can see fish, shrimps and crabs when you go to the sea. The hotel also upgraded us to a twin room with sea view, but remember that after 8 pm, you need to use the room key to turn the first keyhole of the elevator to use the elevator!

We drove up from Melbourne towing our boat and stayed in a deluxe 2 bedroom cabin (sleeps 6) for 5 nights 26/6/23 to 1/7/23 - It was INCREDIBLE. This was our best family holiday so far. 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 2). Our cabin was right next to the park and jumping pillow which was perfect! The play equipment was great and kept the kids entertained for hours as well as all the other kids staying in the park. Boat was easy to park just behind our cabin, others had parked their trailers/caravans there too so plenty of room while you’re there for storage. Our cabin was stunning. It was huge, full kitchen, lounge, dinner table, bathroom with a washer and dryer, tvs in both bedrooms and the lounge! Everything was super comfy and worked smoothly without issues. So good to be able to relax in your own space with everything you need and not take any dirty washing home! Only minor comment is that there was free wifi but it’s temperamental so we weren’t able to connect at all - didn’t bother us but just so you know. The pool was crystal clear salt water, huge, toddler pool also and a water park. Not heated so lovely and refreshing! The kids and us were fully entertained and enjoyed hours splashing in both. These facilities far outweigh other parks in the area and I wouldn’t choose any other park with kids. Hands down the way to go. The grounds are pristine and well kept, lush and so beautiful. So much space to play and walk and enjoy. Pedal carts were fun and games room took spare change haha! Reception staff always kind and helpful ready to go above and beyond. We had booked a room and tried to change it online but had issues through the booking company and extra fees. When we checked in they advised they upgraded us for free! AMAZING!! We rode into town for dinner and sightseeing a few nights/days and it was 3.5km, an easy ride our 5 year old managed no issues. Jubilee tavern is super close and has an awesome playground for kids. Also a great skate park just up from that and in Airlie an epic park too.so convenient to the park. We 300% recommend Discovery Parks Airlie Beach and WILL DEFINITELY be back to stay many more times. Wonderful accommodation, exactly what we wanted from our stay. Clean cabins, no fault that we could find. On the last day, it rained heavily and we were unable to get a taxi to town and catch a bus to the airport. The owner kindly gave our group a lift into the town, with no expectation of any reward. 10/10

Very good, the back door is the beach pool. I called the boss at two o'clock in the afternoon to tell us that we arrived at six o'clock. He said that he hanged the phone, then sent a text message to me, telling me that the password was taken from the box, and after that. Take the envelope, inside is the precautions and room key, half self-service bar is, this place is relatively small, not far from a pizza shop is particularly delicious, highly recommended

The Mirage is a gorgeous hotel with modern rooms and breathtaking views. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment (room 53) which overlooked the sea and the pool. The apartment was spacious and had all amenities. It’s a 5min cab ride to the main ***** in Airlie Beach which costs $10 each way. The hotel also offer a free shuttle at 10:30am and 2:30pm daily which was handy. Now to go over the not so great aspects of hotel. The rug in room 53 is stained, dirty and I had to ask for someone to come up to vacuum it when I arrived because I didn’t want my baby crawling on it. Even with the vacuum it was still disgusting. The rug needs to go! The bed heads need to be replaced as the material is flaking and gets all over the bed. The shower screens were not cleaned at all. Standard of cleaning must be improved. The breakfast is pretty average, presentation, quality and variety needs to be improved. The portable clothes line in our laundry was old and broken, needed to be thrown out and not offered to guests in that state. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

As a business owner myself, it always intrigues me when people don't test out their own business and its amenities. We stayed here one night on a powered site which we felt was reasonably priced. However, there are a few things that could be improved concerning the amenities block which are beyond confusing. The amenities are quite hard to get your head around as they are in one block but make no sense whatsoever where the females and males toilets etc actually are. There are no hand dryers or paper towels in the bathrooms either which just leaves you with an 'ick' feeling when you've washed your hands but aren't able to dry them. The dump station is also part of the amenities block, so heaven forbid you need to use any amenities while someone is emptying their toilet cartridge.... Great having a dump station in the camp ground, but more thought should have been put into where it went on site. Even better if your plot is right next to the dump station... The showers are hot and have good pressure but the water goes absolutely everywhere - it looked like quite a few of the nozzles were blocked which meant it was actually quite hard to get the water spray concentrated enough to rinse long hair. There are also no shower curtains and no separation between the shower and where you hang your fresh clothes etc. I think this place could be great, but I question whether the business owners have ever actually used their own amenities here?

My husband and I booked a Deluxe King Spa Room for 5 nights, 6 days including continental breakfast. Overall we were happy with our stay. Staff were friendly, room was clean, the pool area was lovely. Only small complaints are that the pillows were not very comfortable and the bathroom needs updating, the water pressure in the shower was very bad. The restaurant in the resort was lovely for our daily breakfasts but very expensive. If you wanted hot food for breakfast you had to pay for it and the price of $5 for a hash brown, $5 for bacon and $3 for a poached egg was exuberant. We realised that the inclusive continental breakfast did not include hot breakfast foods. The choice of other breakfast foods was ok. I, personally would like to give a shout out to Christina at reception for looking after me when I needed a special favour 😊.
