Family of 5 with teenage kids, there is something to do for everyone here, children, teenagers, adults. Great walks and the snorkeling was really nice! The beach is kept clean (most of it, lots of trash in one end, but i guess it is really hard to keep up) and rooms are neat. Lovely restaurant staff and dive base staff.

Just returned from a brilliant three night stay at Sea Gypsies. It was a straightforward trip, coming from Singapore after about 2 and a bit hours with a twenty minute boat ride to Sibu Island. What a beautiful part of the island they have! We were given a wonderful welcome with welcome drinks and a bit of info about how it all works. It’s easy to get onto the small resort’s chilled slow pace but with plenty going on if you need it. Every morning we went on a boat trip to snorkel, they have a dive centre as well, where we swam in turquoise warm waters. The dive crew seemed super knowledgeable and helpful. We went with friends and our kids were entertained through out by their bubbly, caring staff members. Activities were wholesome, no wifi, no aircon, lovely food, great drinks, awesome staff. We loved it!! Special shout out to Billy, Perry, Skulk, the formidable story telling Richard and all of the amazing staff at Sea Gypsie! It may be the most beautiful place to visit but the the staff really do provide that little bit extra that I’ve never seen in my ten years in Asia. We will be back!!

The highlights for us: - the location - on a lovely stretch of beach, clear blue water - the vibe - relaxed, casual, laid back - activities - dive centre with lots to offer, daily activities shared on a board in the restaurant Things to keep in mind: - there is no wifi, hot water or air conditioning - the chalets are simple and clean - a bed with a mosquito net in a simple wooden structure - the food is simple and dietary needs were taken into consideration

I have been captivated by the sheer beauty of Sea Gypsy Village for many years, but was apprehensive when we returned for the first time since the pandemic. There was no need to have worried. As you can see in the breathtaking photograph, my wife and I found it had lost none of its appeal as we found ourselves once again immersed Sea Gypsy magic, an idyllic and peaceful morning stroll along the pristine beach, the sun casting a warm glow on the untouched sands. We have been returning to this captivating resort, and it never fails to preserve its wild and stunning allure. Beyond being a tropical paradise, Sea Gypsy Village is a friendly haven that offers everything you could wish for in an peaceful getaway. From delicious food to a great bar that serves up refreshing drinks (and the best ice cream), the team here know how to delight. Moreover, the resort boasts a diverse range of incredible activities, from invigorating waterfall walks to seriously good diving at the best-run dive shop I've ever encountered. Yet for all that, it is still that beach that steals the show. A breathtakingly beautiful escape from modern world where you will find true solace in nature. We travel halfway across the globe to relish the magic of Sea Gypsy, so I envy those living in Singapore, who can reach the island within a few short hours. The contrast between the bustling bright lights of city life and the serenity of this beach, a place to relax, read a book and gaze out to distant islands dotted in the sea is astonishing. Walking barefoot on the beach at night, with only the gentle lapping of the sea and the canopy of stars above, I always feel an overwhelming sense of peace that rejuvenates my body, mind, and soul. My visits to Sea Gypsy Village have been nothing short of extraordinary. I wholeheartedly recommend this paradise to all those seeking an escape from the mundane, a rendezvous with nature's wonders, and a balm for the soul. Whether you're seeking adventure or simply yearning for relaxation, Sea Gypsy Village promises an unforgettable experience.

I heard the Sea Gypsy from one of my friend, they used to go there regularly with her family. I wanted to give a try, and at the end I fall in love with the place. It is absolutely fantastic and will go again definitely. I went as a solo traveler for 3 nights, the owner Richard is super friendly and positive person, he involves you in conversations you never know how you join and he introduces you with friends/people around, you never feel “solo” which is nice :) If you want to escape from busy city life, this place is for you, I just came back to my apartment and already missing there after living in nature for 4 days. Place you stay is with less furniture/items which makes it very special, everything is connected with nature, in everywhere you see the reminders regarding reducing foot print, the impact on the nature. This place has spirit, I loved that side the most. With its team working and owner and the environment it has, you will always remember how it made you feel. Foods were great, everything is planned. There are boards on the wall of the restaurant, you can follow all food related, event related updates from there, which is very nicely thought. About the drink, can find many options at the bar, Ethan and Perry at the bar prepare very nice cocktails, you must try :) In Malaysia I used to go to different islands and unfortunately all of them had the stone at the beach, you cannot even walk. In here it is full of sand and nothing disturbs you, water is very beautiful. Also there are 10 min away spots for snorkelling with the beautiful under sea life. I did not try diving since I have under water phobia, but many people tried and they were commenting it was great experience. I can say the people works in this place know what they are doing very well, dive instructors, the team guides snorkelling are very professional. For the people who loves to spend time with games, there are various options. On one table mother and one daughter was playing chess, next to them father and another daughter was playing card game, so you can find any game and build any team. The chalets were placed very nicely, they all has the sea view. Waking up with the wave and birds sounds is priceless. I went as one person, without kid, without dog, but I want to comment about that side also. Kids are enjoying a lot, there is a crew taking care of them specially and there are different events, they also socialise with other kids which is very nice. I saw two people brought their dogs with them, leaving your little friends behind when you are travelling hurts both sides and these type of dog/animal friendly places makes the difference. In overall it will worth every single seconds of your time:)

Just back home to London after an amazing 2 week holiday at Sea Gypsy. This was my second visit and I can’t rate it highly enough. The resort is a fantastic place to get away from it all and completely switch off. Richard, Linda and all the staff are so helpful and welcoming. The food is always delicious and Parmin made some amazing cocktails, the lychee martini was lovely. The beach is so clean and quiet and there are plenty of activities on offer including snorkelling, waterfall walks and diving. The rooms (and whole resort) are spotless and cleaned every day. I can’t wait to return to the paradise of Sea Gypsy. 😊

This resort is a real escape from our busy lives. it is run by Richard, in his 30's, who is the Willy Wonka of beach resorts. He actually grew up in this resort when it was run by his parents. he is relentlessly enthusiastic, a great dive instructor and fantastic childrens entertainer. Staying here is like being a guest in a private house party, a very special feeling.. it is quite simply furnished but comfortable, the food is varied and good quality, and the bar drinks are not overpriced. the whole place is very well run with a great atmosphere. A lovely place to go diving with some good coral reefs and lots of fish and turtles, the beach is really lovely sand right down into the water, not stony at all. The childrens club is suitable for ages 4 to 10, my children had a fantastic time. Compared to many other resorts i have been to this is head and shoulders above.

Just back from a fantastic weekend at sea Gypsy village. What a beautiful place with superb friendly staff. Ok there is no swimming pool or air conditioning and limited access to Wi-Fi but that’s good!! What there is, is the most magnificent beach with water as warm as a bath, good food, a huge range of onsite activities and a very warm welcome. We were a group of 6 and every person loved it! From the minute we boarded the boat to take us to the island to the departure trip home, we were treated to a 5* holiday. Thank you Richard and staff and good luck for a great future.

Pros: Great place. I was impressed at the creative and innovative use of resources of this resort. Bio garden, outdoor gym, lots of places for kids to explore, tree climbing activities. A great chance to detox from devices as there are no TVs and very poor wifi signal. No Ac but cool/windy enough. Staff are friendly. Food was very good. Kids loved Richard, the guy with the BIG personality. Beach is long and sandy and waves are big enough for kids to use bodyboards and have fun. Good diving experience. Cons: Full board Resort but not inclusive of activities for kids and adults. Prices of activities are high and tbh activities should be of better quality. If you're making friendship bracelets it should be more than just a string of wool. Rooms near the bar were very noisy. You could hear the Staff and guests' laughter or chatting very clearly. Prices of drinks and snacks are expensive. A gin and tonic could set you back 55RM. Tips: Take a walk to the Kampung on your own, no need to wait for Sea Gypsy's tour. Choose kids activity wisely. Take your own bodyboard. Take your own bottle of gin and drink it on the beach. Take a small trek to the other resort called Rimba if you need to get good phone signal and cheaper drinks and snacks and/or see weird creatures at low tide. Weather in October was still pretty good.
