It's a very quiet beach. Many European and American people come here for vacation. The sea water is very clean!

Excellent location, bungalow on the beach with a beautiful sea view..however many problems in the room: the bed is rotten, it is hard and it creaks every time you move.the bedside lamps grate and cut out.in the bathroom there are leaks everywhere. under a sink and at the toilet shower. flooding assured. we asked for a repair but nothing was done. it would be necessary to give a good facelift to the rooms .a small broom on the balcony would be a plus to remove the sand.

The property has great potential and waking up in the morning with the sea just a stone's throw away is priceless, very friendly staff, we had a problem and they immediately changed our room. There is a bit of work to be done on the cleanliness of the rooms. However, the structure is old and needs a lot of maintenance

Not sure where to start. Oh yeah, maybe with the robbery on our last night at the resort. Woke up in the middle of the night with a thief in my room. The same happened at a nearby resort a month earlier and the staff not only didn't tell us to be extra careful but didn't even made sure that the locks of the rooms were working properly. Our lock was very old and completely rusty. Security cameras were not working and the guard was sleeping in his hammock. As if this was not enough, the place is completely falling apart, there is almost zero maintenance. Mold in the shower and in the room, rusty rubinetry, layers of dust behind the curtains, broken fans, ripped bedsheets, huge old stains on the mattress cover, the AC fixed with a band-aid, broken lamps, and the list continues. Cleaning service only where and when the staff decides. The maintenance guy can ask you to plug the drill in your room while you're taking a shower. The restaurant has a simple menu but you will only find half of the dishes available. If you walk all the way to the back of the resort you can also admire a post-apocalyptic scenario of run-down facilities that are literally falling apart in front of your eyes. That's where they do your laundry. The place has an immense potential and the staff is lovely but it's just a real shame to see it so badly managed. It used to be worth every single penny but now it's definitely overpriced for what it offers. I've been there maybe 10 times and saw the place gradually falling apart, sadly. This was definitely the last time.

The hotel is located in paradise. The white sand beach is wonderful, with very few people. Once you leave the resort, you can walk for several km without finding anyone. The place is very simple (which is perfectly ok) but not taken care at all and with a very poor management. When we arrived at our bungalow, we realized that the sheets were dirty (it had a stain that looked like blood). When we complained, we found out that there is something in the water that provokes this stains ( why isn´t that said in advance to avoid complains?). We had two bathrooms. One of them had no water in the toilet and the shower was throwing water everywhere (we decided to use the other one). It was not fixed during the whole stay (5 days) even though there was a housekeeper coming everyday. There was a big sofa, covered by stains. The roof of the bungalow has completely lost the "straw" that was supposed to cover it, it as just a metal thing, that made the place extremely hot ( we used the AC and the fan , but what a waste of energy). There were some shampoo pots that were really dirty outside (and stayed like this during the whole time). The sunbeds are also in terrible condition, and the cushions that cover them full of stains. The beer brands started being finished during the stay. Just the most expensive ones remain. We listened to 3 other couples "in shock" at the reception. One of them cancelled the booking and the other 2 decided to stay. On the positive side, they organized a New Years party + dinner ( 52 $ each, no drinks included) on the beach that was absolutely wonderful. We decided to lower our standards and enjoy the beach, and had very good days. What I do not understand is: what has happened? why this place is not maintained and properly managed? It is a shame, because could be a real paradise!!!

We stayed 4 days, we wanted to relax after being in Siem Reap. Calling it a resort seems exaggerated to me, the location in many areas is abandoned, neglected and full of rubbish. The suite where we slept was not clean and the bed was uncomfortable. The beach and the sunbeds are also accessible to outsiders so several people enter and paying guests risk not finding a free umbrella. I wouldn't go back.

Quite dirty, especially the shower room. In addition, I booked a family chalet via Agoda because I am traveling with a friend. Bottom line, we end up with a family room for $120: 1 double bed and 2 small beds and above all this type of room costs less The manager really sends me off when I show him the details of my reservation. Very aggressive, he claims that he has nothing else even though the chalet is available on the reservation sites, and that if I'm not happy, we just have to leave... Not of shower gel or shampoo, empty bottles The towels really don't smell fresh and the toilet lid is dirty To avoid especially if you are with friends I think, once again, that if I had gone as a couple this would have happened differently!

I think it's one of the poorly kept, dirty and shabby places I've ever seen!!! Dirty sheets, very dirty bedroom walls and a disaster in the common area, always dirty and never taken care of with flat glasses on the tables for hours!!! The rooms full of mold and animals on the walls... absurd!!!

This is just a general review/feedback on the lack of communication from the property. I cannot comment on the resort itself as my booking there was a future date, however I tried to reach out to the hotel numerous time via email, Facebook messenger and calls to ask questions ahead of our arrival (e.g. dedicated boat from Sihanouk, general information about water taxis from resort to other parts of the island etc.). I never received a response, which led me to have concerns about the upcoming stay (5 nights). When I tried to call the resort (number from the resort's own website), there seemed to be a recorded message, which I could not understand as I do not speak Khmer. I tried several times throughout the day. Another resort on the island offered my party a discounted deal, which although was much higher in price than Sok San's deal (we will stay in 2 units instead of a family unit originally booked at Sok San resort), I opted to take at the end because communication from that hotel was very efficient. If communication (to me this is an integral part of guest services) is important to you, my advice would be to first reach out to the hotel (try email/phone) before committing to a stay there. I don't know - perhaps my email got lost amongst other messages(?), I simply didn't want to have the concerns about customer care already in place before arriving to Koh Rong.

The hotel location is nice with exclusive view of the riverside, the staff were very supportive, welcoming and eager to help in everything we needed. The infinity pool is quite big and has an amazing view. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there in our future trips

The electricity in the room kept being switched off during the day. This resort is also quite far from the main piers of the island so the cost to get to the spots where you’d want to go is high, around $15 per trip, so 30$ spent just going from one side of the island to the other. Other than that the area is relaxing and tranquil.

We stayed at Sok San Beach Resort for 5 nights this last month and really liked the place. Our room - we actually booked one of the "Family Rooms" was very spacious and - while a bit rustic - equipped with everything we needed. When we arrived the staff at first had to search for quite some time to find our reservation in the system (that part was a little unsettling after a long day of travel to get to this island hotel). But after this initial 'hick-up' they really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The beach in front of the hotel is pristine, the water dreamy-turquoise blue ... just like in a travel brochure! Breakfast buffet was okay, it was nice that they had an "omelette bar" with staff preparing your order right in front of you. And for lunch/dinner - if you didn't want to have all meals at the hotel itself - there were plenty of other good restaurants in nearby Sok San Village, to keep it interesting. All in all, we would definitely recommend Sok San Resort to anyone traveling to Koh Rong island. It's a very good choice.

Where to start? Arrived today, Wi-Fi does not work. A poor start. Was showering before going out to dinner and the power went out. No lights, no water. We had dinner in the restaurant and the menu was hand written. I kid you not. Not a great start to the holiday.
