Hotel Bellavista

This place (restaurant with a terrace) is very nice and the service was great. The rooms are just too expensive and in need of renovation. The bathrooms with toilet are old and so small that hardly 2 people can stay in them and the shower was unacceptable for tall people (with low roof beams); It was very noisy in the room with ancient furniture, the exhaust air from the kitchen was in front of the window. The food was amazing. Although it is in the Engadin, for this value for money would recommend a different hotel.

The garden restaurant was full after noon in beautiful weather. When finding a table, the waiter was already very unfriendly-rarely experienced as a frequent traveler. After a long wait, it was possible to order drinks and cakes. The hammer was paying, it took forever. The staff was extremely and conspicuously fixated on certain guests, almost ignoring others. Too bad, we would be potential overnight guests, but nothing will come of it.

The hotel itself is very nice. You can get straight into the hotel from the parking garage, even if you have a room in the annex. Unfortunately, we were put in a room in the annex, which was a little lower and the windows were therefore directly at street level. The small seating area in front of the room was also useless, as cars are usually parked in front of it. The room itself would have been nice. At night we were often woken up by noisy guests who left the restaurant and drove away in their cars. The service staff leave a hectic atmosphere (except at the breakfast buffet), which we personally found uncomfortable. The food, however, is very good and the terrace with a view of the beautiful lake is also an inviting place to linger. Unfortunately, the hectic nature of the service staff was noticeable there too :-(. For this room price, we would probably choose a different hotel next time, what a pity.

The reception in this rather impersonal hotel was not particularly warm and we were not even offered any help with our luggage (you leave your luggage in front of the hotel and then park your car in the underground car park opposite, which looks criminal with its many wooden beams). We only received the guest card after explicitly asking! The room facing the street, which made for a poor night's sleep, was also coldly furnished, there were no day curtains and the shower could only be reached via the extremely high bathtub. The wellness area (already quite old...) is varied, but only accessible through a labyrinth of corridors and doors. The food as part of the half board was good, but there was no choice. Dogs were also welcome, which is simply an absolute 'no go' in all restaurants in the world! It was also extremely unpleasant and irritating that smoking was permitted in the literal mini-bar, and this by non-hotel guests! The breakfast (served at tiny tables) met expectations, apart from the lack of fresh juices and the horrendous prices for egg dishes (!). Overall, a hotel with little atmosphere and that doesn't seem particularly keen on positive guest reactions.

During the weekend I went back to this wonderful place on Saturday for lunch. As always, I ate very well with Zurich-style minced meat and quail risotto. The food very good. I state that I have been a customer for many years. Too bad that on Saturday at lunch the restaurant was half empty and I had booked a table for two people but when it was time to assign me a table I was given the worst table in the restaurant. I asked to sit at another table but was told they were all reserved. So I sat at this terrible table while one by the window was free. After lunch with always excellent food, I unfortunately found that all the tables that were empty at the time of my arrival remained empty until I left the restaurant. This disappointed and disappointed me a little and the person who was with me said he was amazed by the criteria used in assigning the tables. Leaving the restaurant I didn't want to complain to the staff it seemed useless and my lunch had already been partially spoiled. I hope to be luckier next time. Anyway thank you for the great food.

Wir haben das diesjährige Saisonabschlussessen mit unseren Mitarbeitern im Bellavista gefeiert und waren in jeder Beziehung bestens umsorgt und sehr zufrieden. Zuvorkommender Service, hervorragende Küche und eine gemütlich und schöne Atmosphäre im Jägerstübli haben alle begeistert und wir werden den Abend in allerbester Erinnerung behalten und sicherlich bald einmal wiederkommen.
