Mercure Singapore on Stevens

The room was quite small. After I bathed, I realised there was no hair dryer, call 3-4 times to the operator but no one answered, so I send my inquiry from Trip.com then someone finally took my call. (Tysm Trip) The staff send the hair dryer within 15mins, nice service. However, when I was hanging the hotel tower, I saw there was some blackish spot, then I request again, same thing the services was nice but cleanliness need to be improved. For the breakfast, all is good, worth the price, lots of choices. Have no time to use the facilities so no comments There is a 7Eleven beside the hotel, quite convenient. The hotel is quite far from the nearest Mrt station, which is Stevens, so they provide shuttle bus to there. However the bus only comes once every 45minutes. Just a reminder, the nearest bus stop is Novotel Mercure@Stevens.

10 mins away from the Steven MRT station and there’s a bus station right in front of the hotel. Very convenient as it’s also 10 mins away from Orchard Road. There’s a Killiney Cafe at the lobby which serve Singapore delights and local coffees. Some western food restaurants available nearby as well.

Overall, Mercure Singapore on Stevens is a decent and comfortable hotel, although some areas are clearly in need of renovation. Our room was bright and pleasant, with large windows and a very comfortable bed. Everything was practical and well arranged, and we slept very well. However, the corridors and entrance area already look rather dated and could definitely benefit from a refresh. The location is average. There is not much within comfortable walking distance, but it is perfectly manageable if you use taxis or public transport. The swimming pool is very nice. The gym is much better equipped than a typical hotel gym because it is more like a full-sized fitness club. However, both the equipment and the gym itself feel very old and heavily used, so this area also needs renovation. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with good facilities, but the hotel would feel much more attractive after some updating.

The stay is very enjoyable. I have booked this place for my birthday stayover. The staff over at the checkin counter is very friendly and helpful. Room is of the best quality and cleanliness. I would certainly boom the place again in the near future.

Location is a bit remote, it takes at least 10 minutes on foot to get to the city and the MRT station. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus, but it runs only about once an hour, seats are first-come, first-served, and the last bus departs as early as 7 something in the evening. So I couldn't really enjoy the free shuttle at all, since the times just didn't work for me. The room was clean and nicely designed. The staff at the buffet restaurant and bell service were friendly. However, check-in at the front desk was slow and the waiting time was long.

This is a bustling biz type hotel - on the day I checked in, there were loads of conference attendees at the lobby. The hotel is handy for Orchard Road shopping while away from the crowds. Good for casual short stay.

Downstairs have restaurants, bars and convenience store so not need to worry and easy to go for mrt as well
