Oasia Hotel Downtown, Singapore by Far East Hospitality

The service was great, and the room had a lot of character! It's super close to Chinatown, and the MRT station is right downstairs. The room was also a bit larger than average. With two swimming pools, it was a really comfortable vacation. However, I think the air conditioning might be a bit old – my allergies acted up as soon as I entered the hotel... It felt a bit dusty, but the view was truly excellent!

The hotel was comfortable and clean. The only downside was that bottled water is no longer provided. If you need water, you have to go down to the water dispenser in the lobby. While this is more environmentally friendly, it's a bit inconvenient.

I chose this hotel solely based on its exterior. The hotel itself isn't bad for the price. However, the view from the room is largely obstructed due to the building's interior design, and the staff aren't particularly attentive. Even though we booked for three people, the amenities in the room were only prepared for three, and the in-room phone was constantly busy (even after 1 AM...). It was convenient to have a 24-hour FairPrice and McDonald's nearby. I wouldn't recommend it for families, but it's a good choice for couples or solo travelers ^^.

This hotel is super convenient, with a fantastic location right next to Tanjong Pagar MRT station, just one stop away from the main attractions. While the room isn't huge, it's pretty good value for money given it's in downtown Singapore. The street next to the hotel is definitely worth exploring in the evening – more interesting than the tourist spots, actually. The breakfast quality was decent, but there are so many good food options nearby that eating out is probably better value. The only hiccup was that they forgot to clean my room on the first night. I even spoke to a staff member when I left, but maybe they didn't catch my room number clearly. I followed up with the front desk on the second night, and it was cleaned well. On the third morning, they were waiting outside my door bright and early, so maybe it wasn't an intentional oversight. The lobby is on the 12th floor, with the reception on the 1st floor. The two Indian guys handling luggage storage were really friendly and cute. We communicated well, even when I didn't quite catch everything in their Indian-accented English.

The sink's drainage was incredibly slow; even just washing my face would leave a basin full of water. The room cleaning was terrible, truly awful. Upon entering, there was a dried contact lens on the floor. We stayed for 4 days, and the room was never properly cleaned; all they did was make the bed. Even after telling staff we wanted the sheets changed, they weren't. The trash on the table wasn't even cleared.

This was our second stay at Oasia Downtown, and our third time at a Far East Group hotel, but this time I was a little disappointed. On our check-in day, we requested an extra duvet. We went to the Night Safari and only realized it hadn't been delivered when we got back late at night. We had to call again, and it took a long time to arrive in the middle of the night. On the second day, the room door lock broke. Of course, the technician who fixed it had a great attitude and solved the problem for us, which we really appreciate. However, the location is excellent, right next to the MRT, and close to Maxwell Food Centre, making dining and shopping very convenient. We also happened to be there during Singapore's National Day and received some complimentary cookies.
