I had a very disappointing stay at ibis budget Singapore West Coast and unfortunately would not recommend it.
I understand that hotel rooms in Singapore can be small, so the room size itself was not the main issue. The biggest problem was the complete lack of sound insulation. I stayed in Room 501, very close to the elevator, and could hear the elevator mechanism running up and down throughout the night. I could also hear people showering, running water, brushing their teeth, flushing toilets, talking in bathrooms, and guests speaking loudly in the corridor, shouting, and slamming doors late at night. The noise was constant and made it extremely difficult to sleep.
Housekeeping was also inconsistent. On some occasions, it appeared that the room had only been superficially tidied. The floor did not seem to have been properly swept, and on one occasion I noticed that a towel had not been replaced because a mark that was already on it was still there. After I raised this with reception, the staff responded appropriately and made sure the room was properly cleaned and the towels changed.
The reception staff were helpful, and I appreciated their response when I raised the housekeeping issue. However, the poor soundproofing and overall condition of the room made the stay extremely uncomfortable. I barely slept and would not choose to stay here again.
