A Hotel Joo Chiat Reviews

General room cleanliness was okay, but there were ants in the room. I woke up to ants on my pillow one morning. Location is great and is the highlight of the stay. Food all along Joo Chiat and also is opposite a Fairprice supermarket. WiFi was also unstable, not suitable for working - recommend you get a data sim and hotspot.

We chose a room with a window on the 4th floor. The view was of air conditioning units and various pipes, but that's okay, as long as there's natural light coming in. The front desk staff were polite. It seems there aren't many housekeeping staff; they cleaned the rooms in the afternoon/evening, probably handling check-outs in the morning. The WiFi worked, though it was slow at times. The TV had YouTube and streaming apps that you could log into.

The location is super convenient! Right downstairs, there are two Nyonya museums, plus a Joo Chiat bakery and a Vietnamese baguette shop, which are all delicious. It's also very quiet in the mornings. There's a bus stop nearby, and you can enjoy the night view.

The room was spacious which was very comfortable, but the windows are not soundproof and my room was in the roadside and there was a lot of noise

A hotel was neat and clean. The room was exactly as pictured online. It's about a 15-minute drive from the airport. The noodle shop to the left of the hotel exit was pretty good. To get to the city center, you can walk about 10 minutes from the hotel to catch a bus; it takes around 25 minutes to reach attractions like the Merlion. Several bus lines go through the central area, so you usually don't have to wait long. From there, you can take your time strolling and enjoying the Marina Bay Sands view. Big shout-out to Trip.com for their super convenient airport pick-up process via the app. I found my driver right away based on their info. No need to worry about not finding a 6-seater car at 3 AM. Both the pick-up and drop-off services used a 14-seater vehicle.

Booked the dorm room. Positives: good strong air con, clean and spacious room, roommates quiet. Negatives: mattress is a ridiculously thin (barely can be called a mattress). The bed surface is creaking old wood that makes a noise every time you turn. With no mattress support, you feel like you're lying on cheap wood the whole night. The most uncomfortable mattress of my life. In addition, guests in opposite room were loud and shouting and can be heard even with both doors closed, reflecting poor soundproofing.

The hotel is located almost in the heart of Geylang. There are many eateries and kopitiams nearby, and a large FairPrice supermarket right next door, making it convenient to buy anything you need. It's also very convenient to travel around Singapore by MRT and bus. There are many Vietnamese restaurants in the vicinity. I'll definitely return here if I have the chance.

Nice location and service

Conveniently located 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from downtown attractions like Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Park. Public transportation is easily accessible. Best of all, it's just a stone's throw away from the vibrant Geylang nightlife.

Good location, near to almost everything you need. The interior not so modern but the cleaning staff do great job everyday make sure your room clean.

Extremely poor customer service. I dialled the hotel’s official phone number over ten times and nobody ever answered. I also sent them an email one week ago regarding my questions, but have received zero response to this day. It is really disappointing that there is no reliable way to reach the hotel for basic inquiries. Such bad communication reflects very poorly on their service standard and I cannot recommend this property.
