This hotel either has thieves or its staff are thieves. We changed rooms and then realized some items were missing, but the hotel denied everything, even the missing Lao Pu gold box. We ended up giving a statement to the police at 2 AM. The room was full of biting ants, and there was dried booger on the bedding from the previous guest. The hotel front desk staff were discriminatory towards Chinese guests and would impose arbitrary fines. We had to change rooms three times. Since we weren't familiar with Singaporean law, we smoked a cigarette in the first room. We received a letter from the hotel stating we'd be fined, and we respectfully accepted the fine without objection. We checked out on the 9th but extended our stay by two days due to a change in plans. No one mentioned the fine during our initial checkout. However, when I went to the front desk to inquire about our lost items, they suddenly demanded I pay the fine, which I did without hesitation. Afterward, I asked the manager, 'What if I had left on the 9th? No one asked for the fine then, so who would you have charged on the 10th?' The manager said if we had left, they wouldn't have been able to collect it. Are they just taking advantage of honest people?
