Hotel Scala Greca

Value for money ok

The property is located 4 km from the center of Syracuse. This is a good hotel without too many pretensions. The room is spacious and clean. The abundant breakfast is plus you will find free parking space near the property. Really low prices. Welcoming and very kind owner. I recommend it, I'll be back!

Cleanliness was OK; unfortunately there was no restaurant in the hotel; breakfast was OK; breakfast room was cold; it took a long time for hot water to come out of the tap, so there was unnecessary water waste. For pizza and pasta eaters, this part of Syracuse is a paradise; for others, it is a disgrace. There are practically no normal restaurants nearby, only in the old town.

I don't know how they are still holding up: it makes me shiver when I enter the room and find the bed sheet stained and even punctured. The air conditioner I find was perhaps from the 1950s and didn't even work. The very dirty balconies. But can a wonderful country like Italy have structures like this in 2023?... I leave the reflection to those who read this review…..

I both stayed and ate there, I recommend it for the food which is too good, simple but refined cuisine. Hotel from the 60s remained so a renovation was recommended. Mr. Massimo super 👌 and all the staff had a great time

Dirty, old, smelly, full of dust, cheap furniture completely dilapidated, in the middle of a wasteland, an impossible place, they charged us tourist taxes as soon as we arrived, because, they said, "that way you don't leave without paying them." In cash, no cards, all money without a trace. Old beds, bedspreads that have never been washed, or so it seems, and with bases that sink, the air conditioning held up with cardboard and duct tape... they only speak Italian, I had to please ask them to speak more slowly, and they didn't. They made, extremely dry and unfriendly, no effort to assist us. I've only been in the hotel for 10 minutes and I can already confirm that I have not been in such a disgusting hotel in my life, and, of course, none like this on this vacation. Remember the name: Scala Greca. This hotel can ruin your vacation. Luckily, I will only be there for two nights, although they will seem like forever. three stars... Italian. not one, it is its fair category.
