DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel South Bend

South Bend|0.89km from Four Winds Field
I was attending a conference at the Century Center, which is connected to the hotel. I had been here before and knew to pull in to the underground parking garage off of N Michigan Street behind the hotel. Ceiling clearance was crazy low! Watch out if you have a large vehicle or have a convertible (like me - oops getting the top down!!). Parking spaces are very very narrow and things are hard to maneuver in general. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Checkin was speedy and they explained parking right away. I found the hotel to be a little beat up. Paint scuffs on the walls, elevator buttons missing, curtains torn, and some fitness equipment not working. Needs some love. Oh, and there’s tons of advertisements and advance emails about hot cookies 🍪, but they must’ve been hiding because I never saw them and they were never mentioned once we arrived. Hmmmm… However, the room was clean and very comfy. Had some problems with the AC, but found if I set it as low as it would go (60), it stayed around 67 at night. Vending/ice was on every floor by the elevators, so super convenient! The room fridge ran extra cold - some of my things froze. Great desk space and WiFi. Navigating from the hotel to the conference facility via the skywalk was sketchy. Getting to and across the skywalk was no problem. But once you enter the Century Center, there is no clear signage to figure out where you’re going. The fitness center looked great! But there is no AC and the fans they had were broken. It was stifling in there, even for just treadmill walking. Some of the equipment was out of order, but not marked as such. Ugh. Anyway, a couple of tips: 1) I recommend getting a river view room. Rooms that overlook the atrium are noisy. 2) Avoid the 2nd floor - it’s where the skywalk is located and the hallway can be noisy. 3) Check to make sure your AC is working properly before unpacking. 4) If conferencing, be sure to figure out how to navigate the skywalk and the Century Center ahead of time. 5) If you plan to use the fitness center, bring a water bottle, towel, hand sanitizer, and plan to sweat!

Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend at Notre Dame

It takes about 20min to walk from Notre Dame. Walk to eddy street for about 5min. The window looks out to Notre Dame. The surrounding environment is very quiet and suitable for a transition night.
Ivy Court Inn and Suites

Me and several friends booked a couple suites at Ivy Court for the Marshall vs Notre Dame football game. Everyone that works there were extremely helpful and courteous. Jessica, Annica and Timmyka each went out their way to make our stay fun and memorable. Since all of us were traveling from out of town, we purchased the tailgate package also which was well worth it. We didn't have to pack up our own tent, chairs, etc. and the staff at Ivy Court set it all up and tore it all down. We just had to show up and tailgate. The breakfast is made fresh right in the kitchen next to the buffet. While we were there it had scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, burritos, hot & cold cereal with break and muffins. It was a great set-up. Finally, you can't get much closer to the stadium and the walk over was 5-10 minutes. The location can't be beat either. Overall, it was a terrific stay at Ivy Court and in South Bend for the weekend.

The Inn at Saint Mary's

The room is large, clean, the bed is soft, the condition is OK, the breakfast is quite comfortable, it is a hotel relatively close to the University of Notre Dame nearby, and it takes less than 20 minutes to walk through the grove to the school.
Candlewood Suites South Bend Airport

I found this Hotel on my IHG app while looking for Hotels in the area. I was in the South Bend area for business and looking for a Hotel close to New Carlyle. The price for a one night was what closed the deal. This is a budget-friendly hotel with large spacious clean rooms. There is no 'breakfast' at the hotel but they have vending machines and many restaurants close by. I found a nice sized kitchen area, a large desk/work area, a large comfy queen bed, and a large bathroom inside my room. Overall my stay was good, but the rooms could use a touch of modernization. The rooms lack USB ports but they have electrical outlets around the room, so I was able to charge most of my devices. The Wifi connection was strong and I was able to connect through a firewall to my company server to check emails and update my CRM. I did find streaming was okay as well as I went online for Netflix and Amazon Prime and have no buffering issues. I would have given this property 4 stars but cleanliness was an issue. I found dirty smudges on the entrance door, cup ring stains on the nightstand by the bed and hair in the drain in my shower (yech!!). Aside from that, the bathroom was large and relatively clean with plenty of towels and full shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the shower. The Fitness room had enough equipment for a basic workout. It had cardio machines and free weights as well as some other accessories. I got in a good 45-minute workout with weights and the cardio machine and also did some stretching (ROMWOD) on the only supplied exercise mat. Would I stay here again...yes, as the price is right but cleanliness needs to be improved and I would like to see a touch of modernization with USB and maybe USB-C ports in the work area and the nightstands.
Hampton Inn & Suites South Bend

We stayed here while traveling on vacation. The beds are as expected of a Hampton Inn. The room was pleasant and spacious for the two of us. The room was clean and no bugs found. Breakfast was as expected of a Hampton Inn, and the only fault we could find was we had to wait 5 minutes for the waffle mix to be filled back up. We would likely stay here again if passing through.
