Riverside Hotel Southbank

We chose this hotel because it’s close to a place with past memories, so it felt meaningful to stay here again. Although the location is generally convenient, we arrived on a day when the Airtrain wasn’t running directly to the nearby station. We ended up walking almost 30 minutes to reach the hotel — tiring but also enjoyable as we stopped along the way to take photos and appreciate the nearby views. The room provided very minimal toiletries, but the bedsheets and towels were clean and bright white, which we appreciated. However, the carpets along the walkways and in the room looked like they were due for a deeper clean — made a little more noticeable since I had forgotten to bring along my bedroom slippers. One thing I really appreciated was that the lift opens directly to the 2nd floor, which made access much easier for me after my recent TKR. I also want to compliment the front desk team for their prompt service — they immediately provided a new kettle when I mentioned that the one in the room was stained. Overall, it was a meaningful stay with some pleasant moments, and a few areas that could be improved.

First up, I must commend all the staff, particularly at reception and at the restaurant for great service and friendliness. My room had a good view across the river to the skyscrapers. There was traffic driving past all the time but I could hardly hear it at night. The room did smell stale for my second night, and the shower was made for little people, not tall persons such as myself. However, overall, I would be happy to stay there again and recommend it to travellers. It is close to the city with a short walk to the museum, art galleries and State Library. The food was good. The buffet for breakfast is worth the cost.

Pretty old and run down. But it's a bed for the night. Checking in was quick.

modest but comfortable rooms, a little bit creaky/noisy, but in a great location and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful :) great as a place to sleep after long day of being out!

Very slack

We had a terrible experience! The rooms had dirty carpets, and the air conditioning did not work correctly, making huge noises and filling the air with mould. We stayed for two nights, and no one came to clean the room after the first night. I was travelling with my daughter, who is one year old, and she needed a calm and clean place to rest, but unfortunately, this hotel was not the place. The customer service at the front desk was incredibly unhelpful and unreliable. The only good thing about this place was the location, but not even this was enough to save the experience of our stay.
