Not a bed place very quite

Absolutely awful. Dirty rooms with dilapidated decor. Scorch marks on the carpet, bathroom mirror filthy and there was a huge unidentifiable stain in the bath. The sealed units in the windows were all blown and it looked out onto a courtyard that was full of litter and ****s. Particularly sad to see what this placrhas become as it was an exclusive country club back in the day.

Arrived yesterdays after an hours drive ready for my wifes pregnancy scan nearby the following day. Pulled up in carpark and i immediately joked to my partner about going home before even leaving the car. We gave the place a chance and continued inside. The hotel looked average when we walked in, we only paid £52 so wasnt expecting 5* Receptionist was helpful enough. Walked to our room (226) to see mountain of dirty washing on floor. Very unhygienic but wasnt my place to say. We saw the cleaner and apparently it had just been cleaned. Walked into our room and quick scan showed room was "ok". We both went to loo and as i looked around, its then i noticed the grime on the edge of the bath, up the walls, the floor needed cleaning. My wife has severe sickness atm and i am weary of her having germs around her because of baby. We both checked the bed sheets and too our disgust there was wee stains and blood on bed sheet. I immediately felt sick and told my wife we were leaving. No was were we staying here for the night. We went to reception and asked for refund, to be told " managers not in til monday, so ring monday". So awaiting refund.

I always read reviews and for good reason. This time I failed to do so and paid a heavy price. We arrived late at night having been travelling all day. The property was extremely dilapidated and on checking in was assured that room 116 was on the first floor as I like to have windows open. It wasn’t it was on the ground floor. The corridor on way to the room stunk of cigarettes and was clearly not a one off incident. The carpet was stained and the emergency exit door looked like it was rotten. There were bags of rubbish strewn across the corridor and laundry both clean and dirty was under the stairs absorbing the stench of cigarettes. The room was filthy and initially smelt damp however the smell of cigarettes soon took over and once in bed the bedding stunk too. The shower was so disgusting neither of us could use it and it had pink bacteria stains over the shower curtain and tray. God knows when this was last cleaned. The ceiling above the window was covered in dirt and mould. We had a drink on arrival and the bar was equally disgusting with tables wet and sticky. There was no one else about so staff were hardly rushed off their feet. There was no ice or lemon to be served with the drink. Had we not been so tired and then consumed alcohol and had a non refundable room we would have left immediately. On speaking to the manager she said that our room had had people smoking in it the night before and had been charged for it. This was of no help to us and the room failed at every level to meet basic standards.

Very poor hotel. I turned up and the lady checking me in was pleasant enough. No problems there. I got to my room. The toilet had toilet paper in there so obviously hadn't been cleaned. There was mould on the bedroom ceiling and all round the window. I went down to the reception and said I couldn't stay there. The receptionist was helpful and gave me another key. I went to that room and it was better but there was a strong smell of smoke. I went back down and explained and she gave me another key. This one only had mould round the rubber seal on the windows. The bathroom was mouldy and wallpaper coming off in the bedroom. I did end up staying in this room as I wasn't feeling well and just needed to get to bed. Something I always check when I go to a hotel room is the mattress. I look for bed bugs etc. The mattress in all 3 rooms were brand new and clean. No mattress protector on them though. It was comfy enough and I slept ok. In the morning I went to get a shower and there was no hot water. I went down to the reception and was told "sorry I will turn it on for you now". What kind of hotel turns the hot water off? I do believe some of the rooms have been renovated so should be better then the hell hole I stayed in. I will defiantly not be staying here again.

Shocking. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Antisocial behaviour. Smell of **** throughout. Dirty tired rooms. Blocked toilet and sink. No wifi. Mouldy, dirty bathroom. Aloof staff. Dirty stained bedding. Please do not make the same mistake. You’d be better off sleeping in your car.

The hotel was terrible, nothing on draft in the bar and no food available. The room was dirty with cobwebs on the ceiling and the extractor fan in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for years. The mattress was very soft with only one pillow. The kettle had a loose connection which made making a cup of tea very difficult.

Horrendous feel sorry for the staff that work there listening to all the complaints, the room stunk of mould TV didn't work mattress felt like it was 300 years old they was more spiders in the shower than in the Amazon rainforest Forrest and I got into bed fully clothed turned lights off and started playing on my phone there was little fly type bugs jumping onto my screen ended up sleeping in my truck.

This is a hotel in a really appalling state. It absolutely stinks of mould. The receptionist was polite and welcoming but the condition of the hotel was really quite nasty. I walked in the room, saw the heating was broken and then saw the state of the toilet and shower and left. I had a cough for the next thirty minutes from the mould. This places needs a lot of love.
