A beautiful traditional house, at altitude, with beautiful hikes nearby. The real gems are the nice couple who run it, who I would give 15/10. Impossible to do them justice in a few lines, but if you've been there, you know! Exceptional food, exceptional welcome, exceptional service, exceptional attention to detail, beyond anything a 5* hotel could offer, because it comes from the heart. What an experience! We already miss them...

There are places out of the ordinary. Like this guesthouse on Taygetos in a wonderful place frozen in time. The beauty of the wooden house from the early twentieth century is extraordinary. Rich, high-quality breakfasts. Patio with grape pergola and fig trees all around. Breathtaking view from the rooms. But it is above all Maria and Georgos who manage this fairy-tale place that deserve a review. For their kindness, affection, originality and creativity and extraordinary ability to welcome. Excellent dinner. All perfect. One of those places you absolutely must go to whether you want to be a tourist or a traveller. In both cases, you learn a lot from this place and heal your body and spirit.

We had a peaceful time with Maria and George. We were warmly welcomed. Maria speaks French very well. They were able to tell us about Greece. After a short walk around the village to stretch our legs and enjoy the springs, we sat on the terrace in the shade. We ate meals prepared especially for us and our children. That was delicious. Georges was able to show us his musical talents and introduce us to his music. The breakfast was exquisite. Thank you again for your welcome in this pretty building.

Call me romantic, but we're talking about a great combination of hospitality, amenities, coziness and views, and it hadn't even snowed. Beauty outside in nature and inside the hearts of Mr. George and Mrs. Mary in a 1930's mansion carefully and in harmony with our modern requirements!

We were spoiled at this fantastic location by the owners of this 1930s mansion. Stuck against the mountain with a view of the forests and valley around, we were served delicious Greek food. The room had a balcony from where we enjoyed the sunset.

Georges and Marie welcome you with a great sense of hospitality, you feel good in this charming house in a peaceful mountain village ideal for beautiful hikes in unspoilt nature (the flora and light of spring on this massif Taygetos is magnificent! The dinner is friendly and Marie's cooking is excellent, George is a musician and knows his mountain very well, very far from mass tourism... simply perfect!!

Lovers of undifferentiated international tourism go your way! At Marie and Georges, we are in the heart of Greece and this 5-room guesthouse is worth it: you have to climb a steep road which dominates the plain of Sparta, then a few stairs to arrive in this place marked by the generosity of the hosts. Marie has just retired as a French teacher, she cooks well, typical food from her region. The evening meal is 25€, but it is definitely worth it; we came out a little too well fed...but delighted. Georges, a fine connoisseur of the region's trails (he is a guide) is also passionate about popular Greek music; we thus finished our meal with music. The rooms are very good, we're not in a 5☆ but that's what I like: an old house, well maintained, with character like its owners. To visit Mistra, it is a good base, even if you have to go back down into the valley. A stay that will remain in my memory, authentic, sincere and generous.

If there were 10 stars they really deserve them and they are few! The people of the hostel are the kindest warm and welcoming people ever!!! You don't want to leave your house because it really feels like your home!! Great location and trails to follow!
