Carpenter Street Hotel

Came for a two day business trip with family. The hotel was close to downtown, convenient to our meeting place, and a good value. I would definitely stay there again.

Property is clean. Staff is attentive, polite and English language challenged. I had to request bath towels, paper, and tissue upon check- in. One-time anomoly. Otherwise, I recommend this property.

Staff was wonderful! This is an older hotel, so it has a couple quirks. When I reported the rocking toilet, staff and maintenance was quick to come examine and do as much as they could to stabilize. Springfield is surprisingly quiet (other than the occasional trains) with low car and foot traffic. Everyone was wonderful during our stay!

Room was spotless, checking in easy, quiet place to sleep even with hospital across the street. We needed to be close to our medical center (memorial med center for surgery the next morning) worked out great and cost was affordable.

Room was spotless and staff was friendly. The breakfast was neat and clean. New carpet throughout too.

Room was ok, clean enough. Had a stain on the bed skirt. Bed was firm. Breakfast was good. Great for a quick overnight.

Checkin was courteous, informative and quick. Room was spacious. Nice to have the frig and microwave but didn’t end up using. Bed was comfy. Shower good temp and good pressure. The breakfast was very basic and blah. Biscuits were good. Walkable to downtown restaurants, bars and sites. Hospital across street.

So, staff, the best. Hotel, needs serious revamp. Shower leaked out everywhere (curtain was too high :). And the toilet didn’t work.

Room cleaning could be better. Found an empty Oreo package, Jimmy John’s wrapper and sauce lid under a bed. Staff was friendly.
