Lovely hotel but I would say it’s not particularly buzzy or exciting (we spent a Saturday night there). Bars and restaurants are ok, food nothing special but still expensive. There is a games room for children which could definitely do with some improvement (barely any toys and all quite old). The cinema room wasn’t available as there was a wedding on so not much to do with our 1 year old. We did go swimming and the pool was lovely and nice little kids pool. And the room was lovely and very big bathroom. Lovely cake left for my husband for his birthday.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, which made it perfect for rest. The rooms were surprisingly big, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. Everything felt well maintained and clean. Overall, a great place to relax and unwind. I’d definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately this did not live upto our expectations, from being told on arrival we would need to check out earlier than our 1pm check out time due to work being carried out in the hotel, which also caused us to not be able to go to the spa on the time we had booked due to this work. Not once were we told before hand or while booking that this was the case. We were then told they had emailed us prior to arriving stating this which wasn’t true. We then went to the spa and was welcomed with workers walking in and out from outside with dirty work boots and leaving outside doors open so it was freezing and all could smell was wet paint.

The most surprising hotel during the trip to Scotland. On the first day, a white guy at the front desk was very enthusiastic and patient. On the second day, I met a black girl who could speak simple Chinese and was very enthusiastic to help us communicate and book the golf course. The waiter in the Italian restaurant was also very good and very enthusiastic. I originally only stayed in the hotel for one night, but decided to book another night on the second day.
