"The place is filthy on the outside. It is unkept. Unfortunately this what you see only when you get there. The pavements are very dirty. There is rubbish lying around next to the bins. The inside of the property is lovely and comfortable but the kitchen is infested with cockroaches. There is aircon (even though you will buy coupons when what is initially loaded runs out). The toilet upstairs needs to be fixed. It was making a lot of noise which affected our sleep. I wouldn't recommend it for now. However it has great potential to be the best in its league if cleaning and fumigation is done."

"Pictures look nice online but don't show the lack of maintenance over the last few years, which is apparent. Great blackout curtains in the room and quiet so sleep quality good. There is a pool & breakfast has lots of choice but no restaurant or bar. Having said that it's 10 mins max walk to town for those things. If you want a basic, clean place for exploring iSimangaliso this works. When tourism picks up I'm sure it'll get back to being proper 4*"

"The Sandpiper is a beautiful place with great, friendly staff and delicious breakfast. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, Promise is a great hostess and the kitchen and housekeeping is great. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The pool(s) are nice and comfortable in a beautifully kept garden. And to me maybe the most important about Sandpiper is the location. It's all still close to town but I love that it is not in the middle of town but borders the bush/wetlands just a stone throw away from the beach, so when you are sitting in the garden (at the pools) you have the feeling of being in the middle of nature. Love it and will be back :)"

"We stayed at the Rhino Coast Guesthouse for3 nights with our 3 teenaged kids. We were welcomed by Bradley, who immediately started spoiling us minutes after we got of the car. He booked our acitivities for us after offering good ideas matching our needs. Breakfast was absolutely great. One day we missed breakfast because of a boat‘s trip, so we where spoiled with an early morning breakfast and then sandwiches after returning from the trip. The guesthouse is very clean, the rooms are beautiful with enough space and modern big bathrooms. We managed to catch a tuna one day, so Bradley organized a possibility of bringing the fish to a nearby restaurant, where it was prepared for us for dinner. We enjoyed our stay at Rhino Coast Guesthouse a lot and would like to come back next time. Thank you Bradley and Donavan for being the best hosts and spoiling us over the whole stay!!"

The lodge is located about 30 seconds walk from the main street in St Lucia, so it’s perfect for going out for meals and for getting picked up for trips/tours/safaris. Would definitely stay again"

"From the moment Phil answered my email query about accommodation at Santa Lucia, I was pretty sure I’d found something special, and the reality (which we didn’t experience for almost another 12 months) did not disappoint. We stayed at Santa Lucia Guesthouse for almost 2 weeks and during that time we were made to feel like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble! Phil and Eileen cheerfully and knowledgeably helped us navigate bookings and payment for all the best places to visit, assisting us to plan the most memorable holiday experience ever. Saint Lucia itself is a superb destination, sitting on the edge of the world class iSimangaliso Wetlands, beautiful beaches and close to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park. It really deserves thorough exploration and is a well-run town with friendly locals and plenty to see and do (and eat). We enjoyed wonderful hospitality, fascinating conversation, beautiful original artworks by Eileen and lots of laughter and fun. All without the annoyance of noisy televisions. There was with plenty of space to move and the service was prompt, unobtrusive and top notch. We absolutely loved every moment of our visit. It was truly the stuff dreams and lifelong memories are made of, and we definitely plan to come back! I really couldn’t recommend Saint Lucia or the Santa Lucia Guesthouse more highly and wish I could give more than 5 stars."

The garden and house were cleaned every day, and a special thank you for doing the laundry—everything was neatly ironed and folded for us. This is one of our favorite places in St. Lucia—we've been here in 2021 and will be back! Thank you for your hospitality."
