The Punch Bowl

We are so lucky to have this little gem on our door step! Great local food, freshly cooked and presented wonderfully. The team who work there are like a little family, such a welcoming bunch. We’ve tried lunch, tea and Sunday dinner and always fantastic, never disappoints. They have a range of fantastic live musicians playing, sourcing some of the best in the north east. Get yourself along for some good food, live music and good company. Pictures in comments!

First time visiting after seeing on facebook food was lovely lots of choice and staff very friendly definately be back had curry fishandchips starters fillet steak and drinks price was good to wanted a dessert but couldnt of ate it if you havnt been give it ago

The punch bowl is a beautiful pub, very warm, welcoming and rustic. A proper traditional pub with a modern twist. The food, drinks and service were exceptional, we had hot beef sandwiches. The roast potatoes were awesome and the meat was so tender, melted in the mouth. The pub is super close to South Causey Inn and Beamish Hall so a great place to stay for wedding guests. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Went with family for Tea , what can I say absolutely delicious homemade food . Lovely a**osphere and fab service . Lovely clean pub with quirky decor, staff are friendly and professional and nothing is too much bother for them. Will definitely be back.

Me and my friends went for lunch yesterday and it was beautiful, best pub food I’ve had in a very long time, Will 100% be back, we had the salt and chilli chicken starters with halloumi fries, sweet potato fries, and the steak loaded peppercorn sauce couldn’t fault anything 10/10 and it serves woodpecker cider my favourite 😂

Came for live music and didn’t realise they done food. Ordered a mixed grill and it was lush. Came with so many extras I wasn’t expecting it to be so big! Great value for money and was cooked perfectly. Need to try their Sunday dinners because everyone was raving about them. Cheers for a good night

Came here tonight after seeing some recommendations on social media. My partner got a beef featherblade, mash and veg and I opted for the mixed grill. Within minutes of being seated we had drinks infront of us and our food order was taken, eventhough the place was quite busy and there was only two servers. Food was quick to come out, all delicious, reasonably priced and very generous portions, serving staff were very friendly also. Mixed grill, coleslaw, beef featherblade, x2 pint of coke, x1 double pink gin and lemonade only came to £42! Would highly recommend

Came for a two night stay at the end of November for work and the stay was unbelievable the first night music was blaring until 1:30am and the second night the music was on till 2:00am in the morning followed by 2 hours of continuous arguing, shouting, crying and slamming doors. Which then resulted in me having no sleep the whole night. The place felt like it was to a free for all for the young ones that were running the place never saw the actual owners.

Staff very pleasant. Was a busy Saturday afternoon when we arrived, the staff were friendly and showed us to our room quickly. Tv control and tv were broken. Loud music until midnight so no sleep for any of the kids until after it had finished.
