This was the perfect trip and stay!
The host was incredibly friendly and helpful.
I don’t speak Chinese, but the host was incredibly kind and used a translation app to communicate, making everything so easy. He even upgraded my room for free!
The room was spotless, spacious, and wonderfully quiet—such a peaceful place to relax.
The location was super convenient, just a short distance from Phoenix Town and the bus station. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Eemmy wongI like the elegant design of the room, cleanliness, and complete facilities. This is the only inn that provides hand sanitizer in my fifth stay in Hunan 👍.
It is equipped with a projector and a large screen.
The network reception in the room is not good, which may be the reason why there is no free wifi.
The front desk staff is friendly and gave me an unconditional room upgrade and a travel brochure. Thank him. You can ask him any questions.
It is cost-effective, you may as well come to Shishi.

GGuest UserFirst off, I have to commend the owner – truly wonderful, warm, and incredibly helpful! Before booking, I was a bit hesitant, so I messaged them first. They were super enthusiastic in answering all my questions and explaining everything. We were on a self-drive trip and unfamiliar with the area. When we got to the parking lot, the owner came to pick us up, guided us, and even helped with our luggage! The room had two 1.5-meter beds, perfect for a family. But the real highlight was the balcony view! All my photos and videos are real shots – you can directly see the scenery, the boats, and the performances from the balcony! The bridge right next door is Hongqiao Bridge! This is a guesthouse I'll definitely return to! Looking forward to my next visit! Wishing the owner great business and all the best!

JjudgehdhdbdI always book hotels because I have high standards for cleanliness and room quality. However, when visiting Fenghuang Ancient City, I really wanted to experience staying in a stilt house. I absolutely love the decor of this guesthouse. Upon entering the room, I was impressed by how clean it was. The room quality and facilities are just as good as a hotel's, and the smart room control system is very convenient. The view from the balcony is also incredible, showing how dedicated the guesthouse owner is to running the place. The service was absolutely outstanding; they proactively called us and even met us outside to help with our bags. The guesthouse is located right in the heart of the ancient city, and it's surprisingly quiet at night. The air conditioning was also incredibly powerful! If you're arriving by high-speed train, a taxi from Rainbow Bridge to the guesthouse only takes a few minutes. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

IIppo travelHotel is located in the ancient town, in a very good position to explore the city. It is not on the street front, so it doesn’t suffer of the noise from people strolling around. We stayed on a Saturday night, sadly we heard the disco-music coming from some place around until about midnight. Maybe in other days of the week it’s more quiet.
We also heard other guests coming in their room late at night. Not very civil people because they screamed and slammed doors for a while , children too. Maybe the rooms could be a little more soundproof but, more important, in 2025 people should remember that old american song that says: ＜＜You are not alone…＞＞
The room was good, the bed was comfortable and the AC worked flawless. A plus is the “japanese toilet” and also the best shower we found in this trip trough China.
The host has been very helpful and propositive about what to see and where to go, also for lunch and transportation.
I think if I would ever come back to Fenghuang I will try to stay here again.
Important for foreigners: the host will try to reach you trough WeChat or phone, so ensure you have a working Chinese number (I had a data-only plan and this made all a little complicated).

GGuest UserWow, this hotel is such a pleasant surprise! The room is so cozy and the bedding is so soft and plush, I slept so soundly. And the projector has such a clear picture quality, curling up on the sofa and watching a movie is such a wonderful experience. The greenery in the lobby is also amazing, it feels like you're in a garden, perfect for taking photos. I'll definitely stay here again next time!

OOtautahianThe man working at reception was enthusiastic and welcoming, even though I don't speak much Chinese. Later in the evening he even took me into the restaurant directly connected to the hotel lobby and helped me order.
The location is great because some of the rooms and the restaurant overlook 枫桥 Wind bridge. There was some noise from the street below, but I was tired so it didn't bother me much.... But if you are a light sleeper, it is something to consider.
My room was fine, although the shower drained slowly. I was just there for one night, so again, I didn't mind.
Please note: on the actual street, the blue street number is 101. Initially I walked right passed because I was looking for number 96, and when I visited there was no sign that I could see in either Chinese or English. The local shop owners helped point me to the right hotel. The first photo I posted (with the pink lighting) is what the main entrance looks like, and the photo taken from the bridge shows the hotel from the river.

GGuest UserThe room looks even better than in the pictures. The location is nice but at night it gets very noisy due to a nearby bar with live music (we stayed there over a saturday, so that might have played a role). The receptionist lady was extremely nice and helpful. In general, recommended!

From the moment I booked, we communicated on trip.com and then wechat, I had all my queries answered which would have been enough, but they kindly asked me how I would be arriving at Fenghuang. From there I was guided on every transport option, its description, ease and cost and which area to direct a taxi to, from where we would be met.
I let them know when we got on a taxi from the train station and when we got off at the taxi drop off point, someone was stood waiting for us! Took our luggage and it was an easy 3 minute walk from the car, across Hongqiao bridge to the home stay. We were helped with our luggage too.
When we saw the balcony view we were overjoyed! The hotel is located in the bend of the river so you get stunning views all around and one of the night time river performances is just infront of the balcony.
Location is perfect. Can easily get around and it's in the main streets with all the hustle and bustle around.
Room has everything you need.
Service is impeccable, we were even helped in arranging a driver (special thanks to their driver) who took extra care of us. Anything we needed we could ask for on wechat and were responded to immediately. Discounted tickets for the boat and scenic spots too.

EElene Tan1213First, I want to thank the owner for helping me with my suitcase, both to and from the hotel. The last picture shows the stairs, which are very narrow and steep, so thank you for the help.
I stayed in a quad room on the third floor, facing the river. The photos I took at noon, night, and in the morning really show how beautiful the scenery is.
Across the river, there's a row of places where you can listen to music. I visited one, and the B&B owner reminded me to always confirm the price beforehand and pay upfront, rather than at the end. It's a good reminder! The singing continued until 11:30 PM, which was a bit noisy.
The food I ordered was from the B&B itself, and it was delicious!
They also offer a free 2-hour Miao ethnic costume experience, and you can do your own makeup. There are many spots by the river where you can take photos for a fee.
Highly recommended!
