Great
DDaniil BessonovGood service! Before leaving they sprayed mosquito repellent, and my girlfriend has allergies. They washed the whole room and changed the bed linen. The room is cozy, there is a refrigerator, air conditioning, but we did not like the mattress, it was made of foam rubber and without springs. Also the hotel is near the road, and in the morning cars started driving and I could not sleep anymore. The hotel is not bad, there are some disadvantages.
DDaxiezhendenanI traveled alone in Sri Lanka for 8 days and 7 nights, and I stayed in B&Bs all the time. This was to control the budget and to get a deeper understanding of the people in Sri Lanka. This B&B was the best one among all the B&Bs I stayed in Sri Lanka. I arrived late, and the hostess and her daughter were waiting for me. The room was very spacious and clean. There was no breakfast in the order, but I spent 5 US dollars to try it and it was not bad. The only drawback is that it is a bit far from the city center of the ancient city of Galle. If you drive or charter a car, there is no problem. When I left, I forgot to tell them that my email address is: ********************** Hope you can write to me!
PpeaglerNera and staff were kind and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. Settling into the generous space with a working kitchen was the cherry on top! The wildlife of monkeys, peacocks and colorful birds were on full display.. The location in the village of Unawatuna is excellent and about a 30 minute tuk tuk ride to Galle. There is a temple and lovely pond nearby with wading ducks. There is also a small supermarket with an adjacent vegetable stand about a 10 minute walk away. Jungle Beach and the Japanese Peace Pagoda are about a 30 to 40 minute trek. It would be helpful to add the Uber app to gauge tuk tuk pricing beforehand if you choose to use them.
LLeniGerLocated in the Galle Fortress, very close to the lighthouse, colonial charm, very friendly staff! Double room with 2 beds on the ground floor, rather dark, unfortunately full of cracks and therefore full of mosquitoes, air conditioning somewhat unreliable, mosquito nets for both beds more like a cloth coffin feeling... No kettle, room rather cramped, cleanliness okay, shower with good water pressure and warm, breakfast plentiful and delicious (coffee/tea, juice, a plate full of fruit, fried egg or omelette with sausages, toast with jam all you can eat, really absolutely delicious!
TTuomaxixingThe location is very good, close to the city wall on the west side of the old town of Galle fort. The hotel building itself was originally meant to be a barracks, which was said to have been used as a post office, and is now a hotel but the owner cannot change the original structure.
The hotel has two towers in the north and south, each with a terrace. The terrace of the North Tower belongs to the private room. We booked this one. The room is not big and suitable for two people, but this terrace is great, overlooking the West Coast and the nearby city walls, forts, and lively neighborhoods. Sitting on the terrace for a while early in the morning and night, the small wind blowing in the Indian Ocean, comfortable.
The other rooms on the third floor of the hotel are larger and can overlook the West Coast through the corridor. The yard on the ground floor is full of green plants, the mottled courtyard wall tells his history, and the blue-and-white decoration is a bit Mediterranean. It feels like living in a museum.
We took the children, the store gave us a free upgrade to a larger room type, but we still chose a small room with a terrace. The service is good, basically responsive. On the day I left, I had already checked out. I was hanging out in the old city. I was catching up with the heavy rain. I got a shower. I went back to the hotel owner and immediately gave us clean towels and asked to open a room to change clothes for us.
The richness of the breakfast exceeded expectations. Fresh fruits, various fried eggs, staple foods, drinks and yogurt, we ordered more 😅 and then couldn't eat it, and it became a simple lunch at noon.
Interesting travel experience, seems to be in the Mediterranean town.
TTriptacular7Comfortable, budget-friendly stay near the beach. Great value for money.
Tamara Motels is a family-run establishment located on Galle Road in Hikkaduwa, just a short walk from the beach. The location is convenient—close to shops and restaurants.
I loved the motel's design. I was surprised when the owner told me he built it himself!
The room was clean and spacious, with modern amenities, a huge balcony, a nice bathroom, and a terrace overlooking the railway and the jungle. I slept really peacefully there. Even the sound of the train passing by was soothing.
The family running the inn is incredibly kind and helpful.
JJessie1234Really nice little hotel in the middle of Galle Fort. The host was lovely, the location was perfect and the beds were very comfy. Would stay here again
KkokissI stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was conveniently located about a 10-15 minute walk from Unawatuna Beach and there was a supermarket right in front. The room was a little disappointing in that not all corners were clean. I chose the Sri Lankan style breakfast for both nights, but the chicken curry on the first night was much tastier. The English style breakfast was also quite filling and satisfying. The staff were all friendly and smiling.
GGuest UserHidden away nearby from the busy main road in Ahangama this is a really nice play to stay which I can recommend. Although I travelled with members of my family, we all had separate rooms, which look out onto a green grassy courtyard area with the swimming pool nearby.
Jude as the new General Manager is one of the friendliest and most hospitable people in the whole of Sri Lanka and goes out of your way to make you feel at home in the hotel and welcome in Sri Lanka! I was ill with an upset stomach for a few days while there and he was most helpful in getting me better.
Lots to see and do in Ahangama and nearby areas so it's worth staying here!
