"It’s good to have free parking spaces, but it doesn’t feel very clean and it’s not hygienic. The cups have lipstick marks and the sheets are stained. , but the others will not be too dirty, this price is also very suitable and worth it, if there is a chance, you may also consider staying, only hope that the future health will be cleaned. There is a lemon tree outside."

AAlexandraGreat sized room and was very handy to be able to do some washing and have a kitchenette. Location was good, close enough to city centre but not right in the middle!
We found the shower bath to be unsafe to use as a shower.. it was very high to step over, uneven to stand on and extremely slippery. My partner slipped and slightly fell which was a close call. A non slip mat would be handy in future for sure.
Other than that we were kept awake by hoons cruising loudly down the road all night, but not much the hotel can do about that so more of a side note.

AAnonymous UserThis motel looks relatively new and is very well maintained. Check in process was easy, and help was offered to carry our luggage to the second floor where our apartment is located. Stayed in a two bedroom apartment and there was plenty of space for both of us. Various food options located around the corner.

The grounds are well-maintained, clean, and spacious, making it ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers. The facilities are excellent, with modern amenities including clean bathrooms, well-equipped kitchens, and comfortable communal areas. The staff were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I especially appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the variety of accommodation options available, from powered sites to cozy cabins. Highly recommend this holiday park for anyone visiting Christchurch

GGuest UserEasy and convenient place to get to. The check in and check out process was easy. Our room was a good side and has some basic amenities. I wish there were more kitchen utensils like a frying pan and a small knife.
Everything was clean and towel was replace after the first day.
It was defo value for money!

GGuest UserThe Redwood Hotel was in a perfect location for me in Christchurch. I was here for personal reasons in that part of town (not siteseeing).
The Reception team were very accommodating to my late arrival & communicated clearly about the lock box & room number. Even had a backup scenario on the chance that I didn’t receive their earlier email. Thank you.
They also left a light and heater on in the room to make it more comfortable when I arrived.
I was able park right outside my unit (free) and managed to get a takeout meal in the attached restaurant 20 mins before the it closed for the night. Very tasty & generous portions.

YYierdaianniVery good motel. The proprietress is Chinese and communication is easy. The bed was very comfortable and had an electric blanket. There are all pots and pans available, as well as an oven, electric stove, microwave, and kettle. There is free black and green tea, instant chocolate, and instant coffee. And salt and dish soap. There is a freshchoice supermarket about 700 meters away and Huang Chao about 2 kilometers away. Very close to the botanical garden. For the Chinese stomach, it is very comfortable to have a warm meal at night.

GGuest UserPerfect location for what we needed and great view of the ocean. Reception wasn't in, but it was all prepared for us when I rang the number, so that was very helpful. It's a typical older New Brighton building, so it isn't flash, but we weren't expecting that. The balcony door wouldn't lock, the bath mat was dirty, the toaster wasn't working, but the hardest part was that you could hear people yelling outside - the bedroom window was missing part of the latch so was not very soundproof and the gusty New Brighton wind was whistling loudly through it. All that to say, I'd probably stay again if the price was right as convenience trumps here and prefer over a backpackers when there's kids.
