Cape Vue Country House

Such an incredible place! And the staff is so incredibly kind and attentive! 10/10 would recommend.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel as part of our recent visit to Cape Town and the Wine lands. What a great location this hotel has in Franschhoek - rooms overlooking the local mountains and its own vineyard, and yet a 10 minute walk into the centre of Franschhoek. This hotel mirrored the tranquility of Franschhoek, with the standard of accommodation, breakfast and service standards all more than meeting high-end international standards. A special shout-out for Deano's attentive and exceptionally friendly service. We will be back Deano, for a much longer stay in Franschhoek and your great hotel!

Second time visiting Cape Vue and hopefully will return. 6 room ‘guest house’. Each room is large, comfortable and well appointed. Good, secluded pool and sunbathing area. Location is superb, 10 minute walk into Franschoek to the many excellent restaurants. Reception and management by Dino is top class..

The welcome, atmosphere, location, facilities, breakfast and charming Dino ensuring everything is 100% makes this a delightful place to stay. We like that it's a safe short walk into Franschhoek and that everything feels so relaxed. The pool area is charming and our suite had a private patio too. Breakfast is cooked to order and served in the formal dining room or on the vine terrace. We look forward to returning soon.

We were highly impressed by the level of accommodation and the service we received from Dino and the team. It felt like a home away from home. The views of the mountains from the property are outstanding. It was lovely being surrounded by the property’s vine yards There was the excellent breakfast. The wood fire at breakfast time and in the evening made it extra special.

Beautiful house set amongst the vineyards. Owner couldn’t do enough for us & was very informative about the local area, even booking a restaurant for us. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. I Especially loved the homemade bread. Thank you very much, we will definitely book again if we come back to South Africa.

This is a great place to stay – it’s an old manor house converted into about six rooms, most of them spacious suites with lovely views and modern bathrooms. The ambience of the whole house is great, the grounds are well maintained, the swimming pool glistens and Deano leads the team effortlessly, ensuring that the excellent served breakfast is always first class. We love it.

We had an exceptional stay at Cape Vue in October 2024 - a good time to visit Franschoek - few crowds and easy to make dining reservations. There is a vineyard on property and a comp bottle of wine was a nice touch. The Gen Mngr, Dino, was extremely helpful and even arranged to get my SUV washed onsite after several days on safari with it. He was a former chef, as was his son, and the Eggs Benedict he custom prepared each morning were outstanding. The property was a short walk to downtown and the Huguenot Memorial was right next door. Very reasonably priced for the location and the exceptional room, decor in the public spaces, wine and food.
