We do want to clarify a few points for future guests reading your review. The Provence room is a partially accessible room, and its bathroom is specifically designed with accessibility in mind. The low-profile, shallow tub is part of that design and is not intended to function like a standard deep soaking tub. As for the noise, we do our best to help guests who may be sensitive to noise by providing white-noise machines/clocks in the rooms, and earplugs are also available upon request. We wish we had known during your stay that the noise was bothering you so that we could have offered those options as well as offering to move you to a different room that is further away from the highway. We’re sorry to hear that you did not enjoy breakfast. Our breakfast is prepared fresh each morning, and the second course you referenced was our croque-monsieur bake, a baked interpretation of the classic French dish. Each morning, guests have a choice of eggs prepared to order including scrambled, fried, poached, or an omelet, along with breakfast potatoes and a protein of the day, in addition to the first course. We are always happy to accommodate reasonable requests or offer an alternative if something is not to a guest’s liking. Unfortunately, we were not made aware during your stay that you were unhappy with the breakfast or would have preferred something different. Had you mentioned it to us at the time, we would have been very happy to offer another option. Finally, the rate you paid reflects a particularly busy time of year in the Berkshires, when demand and room rates are considerably higher throughout the area. We understand that everyone has a different perception of value, but our rates are set based on the season and demand. We’re glad you found our staff perfectly nice, and we’re sorry that the overall experience did not leave you with the impression we strive to create. We always welcome the opportunity to address concerns while guests are with us, when we have the opportunity to make things better.
