Hotel Kungstradgarden

The Hotel Kungsträdgården offers wonderful accommodations and value. We stayed for five nights and didn’t want to leave. The staff is warm and professional. The hotel (room and public space) was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was included for no additional charge and served in a restaurant setting. The selections were very good (the waffles were delicious). The location of the hotel was excellent for a tourist’s needs. We strolled through the garden next to the hotel each evening. I especially enjoyed the seating areas for guests to use on the third floor and relaxed there every day. A lovely place to stay.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel. Our check in was swift and welcoming, with the lady at the desk taking the time to make some recommendations for us with regards to local places to travel to. The rooms were spotless and beautifully designed: clean and crisp with beautiful high ceilings in the bedroom. The bathrooms were also lovely - we had a double sink and a warm and powerful rainforest shower. The hotel bar had some great cocktails and there was always a place to sit. An extra shout out to the lady manning the reception desk on the evening of Sunday 31st of March. I found myself in a little bit of a bind and she helped me out! Overall, a great place to stay and somewhere I would unreservedly stay again.

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Kungsträdgården on our first trip to Stockholm. We found the central location perfect for seeing the city and it's numerous attractions, museums and restaurants all on foot. The hotel itself is simply charming with a gorgeous enclosed atrium dining space for meals and drinks. It has a grand yet cozy and warm feeling to it, perhaps owing to the fact that it is family owned (as we discovered). Easily one of the best features of the hotel is the concierge service. We felt extremely well taken care of by the concierge Kiki in particular who helped with booking a river boat ride, dinners and was always on hand with helpful suggestions about where to go and what to do in Stockholm. The staff overall were excellent but the concierge service made the experience extra special. I wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Kungsträdgården to anyone planning to visit Stockholm

I was in Stockholm on a business trip in a different hotel but for unexpected reasons had to stay an extra night and ended up at the Kungsträdgarden Hotel. This hotel must have the most friendliest staff in Sweden. Warm welcome at the reception, at the bar and at breakfast. Nice, small and quiet room. Lovely bathroom, fluffy towels, great breakfast. I did not have the chance to do a lot of sightseeing but I'll definitely come back on a city trip and I already know which hotel I will stay at. Perfect location near shops, ice skate park and train station (15 mins. walk).

This hotel was central for sightseeing and very comfortable. Service was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. I could not have picked a better hotel, would throughly recommend.

Interesting old hotel in the formal gustavian style, which can be observed to better effect away from the main entrance which is down a narrow pedestrianised side street . This access is certainly discreet and the ensuing reception area is tiny. Fortunately it opens up into a stunning covered courtyard which houses the bar and restaurant. It's an astonishing eyeful of metalwork, staircases, chandeliers and skylights; quite the jewel in this hotel's crown. We were located on the open side of the hotel with a pleasant view through a pair of very large windows onto the cobbled steps leading to the actual Kungstradgarden. Our King Deluxe room wasn't overly large but certainly adequate for two whilst being interesting for its high roof, curved inner walls and chandelier. No shortage of storage or shelf space, and the light grey decor was well maintained and restful . We noted the interconnecting door to an adjacent room which, fortunately, seemed unoccupied during our stay, so no noise from the neighbours and, in fact, the nights were perfectly quiet during our entire stay. There were some downsides though. Immediately, we noticed a constant musty smell in the room which was only solved by getting the strongest scented sticks from a Rituals shop in the nearby mall , and leaving them in situ. The otherwise comfortable bed was afflicted by a squeaky headboard which kicked off at any movement. Also, we were not impressed by the large crusty stain on the bed runner which was the first thing we saw when we opened the door upon arrival. Neither could we get the room anywhere near as warm as we would like, despite constant manipulation of the thermostat. Reception did arrange for the bed runner to be replaced immediately. Presumably the comments about the odour and temperature were just noted. We put up with the headboard. Happily, no problems with the bathroom; a heated floor and plenty of space with a large, effective double shower which was completely watertight . The trough-style sink was much better than individual bowls and there was a decent hairdryer to hand. Moving on, breakfast is taken in the impressive restaurant, and the self-service buffet is mainly facilitated via a small room just outside the kitchen; it can get crowded very quickly . There are all the usual items and nothing cooked to order. Plenty of components for the usual staples and everything is good quality and fresh. The self-operated coffee machine seemed quite cantankerous so often worked sub-optimally. We enjoyed our sole visit to the restaurant and we used the bar every evening although there is very little seating nearby. All the food and beverage staff that we encountered were very cheerful and efficient - and, happily, most welcoming after a long trudge around the city. What an exceptional boutique hotel, very well positioned and a lovely part of the city. Staff were very welcoming (thank you Kiki for sorting out our superb room). It has a very friendly atmosphere and all staff without exception were very helpful and supportive.

Old palace at walking distance from everything in central Stockholm. Utmost friendly service, and comfortness. Absolutely a place for staying while in city.
