North Stafford Hotel

Hotel was clean and public areas well decorated. Staff were friendly. Room was clean but there was no housekeeping service during our stay so room not cleaned, bin not emptied etc. There were only 2 coffee sachets in room when we arrived and these were not replaced either. As the hotel offered no food/drinks service after breakfast so no coffee in room was annoying. Have been staying in hotels for years and have never experienced this. Buffet breakfast was ok but food was not replaced when trays were empty, which meant some items were not available.

It was a beautiful experience as it was my second time at the hotel, I had a great time there

Good location. No real atmosphere as it’s quite newly refurbished. Our room was a standard size, the bathroom was a good size-but both had been refurbished very cheaply. Windows are painted shut, there was no fan, the towel radiator was constantly on, the receptionist did apologise for it. Breakfast was ok, coffee (machine) was awful. It was ok value. It was clean because it was new. The noise outside the station was loud, there was child running along the corridor (neither were the hotel’s fault).

My daughter was booked in to stay here for one night as she had a course nearby. The room was tiny and very hot. Didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a long time. She was video calling me when she found bugs in the bedcovers. I told her to tell reception, even though it was late they may give her some clean bedding. The receptionist Danny was really rude and obnoxious. He went to look at the bugs and then took the mick out of my daughter to another customer saying ‘it was only a few moths’. When she returned the room he had squashed the bugs into the bedcovers. My daughter found the hotel quite eerie and the past reviews were quite shocking. She left that night as she felt really uncomfortable and followed her gut instinct. The receptionist laughed in her face when she returned the keys.

Needed somewhere to stay for 2 nights. This was central with a car park. First impressions were very good. Nice friendly staff. It all changed when we went to our room. A very small room. It did have a fan as it was very hot. Never seen such a small bathroom. Not enough room to dry yourself. If you were a larger person I'm not sure how you would manage to use the toilet. The refurbishment has been done on the cheap. Curtains let light in as they dont fit. Cheap furniture. It is clean but it has all been painted. We paid for late check out and they knocked on door as they opened it and we were having a lie in, obviously no communication with front desk. Breakfast poor quality for breakfast considering this isn't a cheap hotel. No gentleman's toilet downstairs, so they had to use disabled toilet which was bigger than our bathroom. Bar shut too early at 10pm, but gentleman said he would stay open if the Football went to extra time. Very disappointed with our stay. Also £7 a day to park. Wouldn't stay again.
