DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent

The staff are consistently highlighted as one of the hotel’s strongest points, with friendly service and quick check-in often mentioned. The leisure facilities include a gym, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room, which are a bonus for guests, though the pool can get busy during weekends and school holidays. Breakfast receives mixed feedback: there is a decent variety, but peak times can lead to queues or slower replenishment. The restaurant offers convenient dining, but prices are considered slightly high for the quality by some visitors. Overall, it is a reliable, comfortable hotel that delivers good basics and strong service, but it is not quite a luxury experience and can feel busy at times.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, the experience fell below expectations. From the beginning, the staff didn’t seem as attentive as they should be. Although they were polite when approached directly, there was a noticeable lack of initiative, and at times it felt as though guests were left to figure things out on their own. The room itself had several issues that really shouldn’t be overlooked. The toilet seat wasn’t fitted properly, and on top of that, the toilet flush was wonky and didn’t work as smoothly as it should. These are basic facilities that need to function correctly for a comfortable stay. The shower also had mould on the silicone, which was disappointing and raised concerns about the level of maintenance and cleanliness. Another issue was the cutlery provided in the room. It was dirty on arrival, which immediately created doubt about the overall hygiene standards. Small details like this make a big difference in how confident and comfortable a guest feels. While the hotel has potential in terms of layout and amenities, these issues made the stay far less enjoyable. I genuinely hope management addresses these concerns so future guests can have a much better experience.

I mean it's decent... First of all, I got allocated the wrong room at first. Then after, when they gave me the correct room, the keycard was not working; after some time, I managed to gain access to my room. The room was not as clean as all, there were mysterious stains everywhere in the bathroom... the glass screen on the bath was not functional properly, during use, water would leak from the bottom of the screen, out onto the floor, creating a dangerous opportunity to slip and fall. When I went for breakfast, nothing was washed properly. Plates, cups, cutlery, all dirty, totally put me off. Overall experience: 5/10

A huge hotel, located near many shops, and the main part of town. The hallways, lifts and gym feel very dated. This hotel is a convention centre and probably holds lots of events, at the time of my stay a celebration was taking place and guests were drumming in the car park . The noise continued for some time so I left the hotel and returned later that night. The gym was not clean, some of the equipment was dated. Gym staff were not attentive, standing around on their phones behind the gym desk. No water in rooms, guests are given access to water in the lobby but that had ran out. Overpriced water available at the bar so went to the shop instead. Reception staff were very helpful and later gave me some bottled water as the communal water had ran out. Definitely would not stay at this hotel again, not worth the price per night.

Had a good time with family, pool is small in size but neat and clean. Kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was good even though it was very busy but good service provided. Regular refilling done

Hotel was very nice, big rooms with really good facilities. Free parking was appreciated and the breakfast was one of the highest quality we've had with a massive selection. Friendly staff on top made it a great stay.

Another high class, decadent stay at the double tree! Lovely, attentive staff, fabulous room and excellent gym/saune experience. See you soon ☺️

Janet, Kath, Joe at the pool were amazing! I cannot stress how clean, friendly and accommodating the hotel and its staff were. We had an amazing time!
