The Welcombe Hotel, BW Premier Collection Reviews

A beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location, with lovely Italian gardens and very accessible to all places. The Spa facilities were excellent. The breakfast choices were superb and catering for all requirements. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. We had an awesome stay. Thank you Welcombe Hotel .

The hotel is a beautiful building and the gardens are lush. For a four star hotel it was not very clean especially the spa toilets they were filthy and were still the same the next day.

This hotel is beautiful in a perfect setting, very close to Stratford-upon-Avon. The only negative points are around meal times. Breakfast supplies need better management or a dining room manager. Items were often running very low t9 depleted, and manu guests had to keep asking for the missing items. Secondly, wedding parties / guests pass through one of breakfast rooms to reach the wedding ceremony room. Guests were being ushered in to the breakfast room where hotel guests were still finishing up there breakfast. This room should be kept separate and hotel guests given space and time to enjoy their breakfast. We moved in to the bar area but that was worse, as people piled in before 11am for drinks! If the bar is going to be open then ushered wedding guests in to one area rather than disrupting guests staying at the hotel. We felt very uncomfortable and as though we were intruding on them. The other point I would like to make is about the lady who announces the wedding info should be more courteous to staff. I heard an abrupt command for an item to be moved .. this is rude and unacceptable, especially in front of guests or anyone, for that matter, let alone embarrassing for the member of staff involved. All the staff were lovely, I just think they would benefit from some training or guidance on running a well organised breakfast room. Dinner was fabulous, just a little disorganised and slow at times. Needs to be a bit more attentive The Spa and pools are wonderful. Overall, we had a most wonderful stay and our room was excellent! I would definitely go back again.. just employ some more staff,, seasonal if need be.

Bil at the reception was absolutely fantastic and his friendly service and warm welcome was just what we needed. Unfortunately the room as marks on the floor, no plug sockets so had to ask for an extension cord to charge our devices near our bed but overall it was a wonderful experience and the food and breakfast was so nice. We definitely will visit again as the customer service was perfect and that's what we vaule the most

Was very disappointed in the room, considering it is 4* the rooms are very basic and dated, bed was hard, cold tap was warm, so couldn’t drink, no phone to call reception and no complimentary water in the room, so had to go down to reception at 6.30am and ask for a jug of water so I could have a drink, Shower was broken and was squirting water out everywhere and also burnt my stomach. The hotel is old but is very beautiful and one of the reasons for booking it, just a shame the room was so poorly maintained. Spa was lovely but a shame the jacuzzi and foot spas were out of order. The breakfast was great, with a good choice of fresh and cooked food.

The location is very good . The bed was all over the place with 2 single beds pushed together as a double and the dust in the curtains and blinds was not good.

Overall our experience was about average, if not below. When we arrived to check-in about late afternoon, the English female staff at reception was either tired or just didn't like us, or probablyjustme as I'm Not English. She basically just checked us in and told us the basic information about where our room was, where the restaurant was and the meal times. No information was mentioned about the spa/pool amenities nor about the hotel wifi. We assumed that those information would be in our room but we didn't see it straight away. We had to come back down to ask for the password and had to inquire about booking our evening dinner as it wasn't provided upon check in. I felt discriminated because I wasn't "white" but my partner was. Next is about the staff at the bar. Again I felt discriminated because I stood in front of the bar to order some drinks. The English female staff already saw me but was too preoccupied texting on her mobile and instead of saying "I will be with you in a moment" she just walked away and got another member of staff, a male one, to attend to me and my partner. My partner and I have never experienced this kind of treatment from all of the hotels that we've been in. I wouldn't be surprised if the English staff in your hotel treats their non-English colleagues the same way.

The building is impressive and stunning. The room is a little bit outdated but still well maintained. They keep the hotel very warm and welcoming. The garden is breathtaking. I also enjoyed their spa facilities especially the little outdoor spa pool which is very refreshing. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

Nice hotel. Big room. Nice spa, only footbath broken. The building is old and needs a renovation. If something Is broken it's not replaced. The food isn't great. The plate are cold but the food is lukewarm. Starters were nice but pita bread wasn't toasted. Salmon very small, not even fillet and not crunchy. Risotto tasted watery. Desert way too sweet. Breakfast lukewarm too. Ok for the price overall. View from restaurant is amazing though.
