Between the 15th & 17th September my wife & I and friends stayed at Caffeine & Machine and had been looking forward to it after a hectic year of work so far, furthermore having read a recent interview with owner of the venue in a reputable motoring press (Evo) which only heighten the anticipation of the stay to come. Upon arrival and after driving some fairly decent driving roads to the venue we arrived and parked our cars out the front and checked in. My wife and I were staying in Room 8 (only room with a bath, steep stairs to the room) and our friends stayed in Room 1. Our room was clean, modern and boutique in style with a great bathroom, however the bed was very soft and some of toiletries had not been checked properly from the previous check out including a set of opened ear buds in a box. Undeterred we began to relax with drinks outside as the weather was glorious and watched a varying array a people's pride and joy turn up until the early evening, we then ordered food of which we ate inside. The food portions were large, tasty and in style of a gourmet burger joint and after which we retired outside to see staff marshalling the car park as people entered. In fact the the complete duration of our stay the staff were friendly, helpful and had a relaxed vibe about them and the whole place felt organised with a sense of community. As the world continue to change at pace, a place like this will become even more important to those who want to be the last bastions of the internal combustion engine on four wheels or two and who have petrol flowing their veins (Super Unleaded!). If they only applied a mantra of a certain Californian resto-mod company then the stay would of been spot on. We wish them both well both at this venue and at there new venture. We will be back!
