Hotel Lido la Perla Nera

Very dated and tired looking hotel. Good size bedroom and balcony but the bed was very firm and we only had one pillow each, we did get two more pillows when we asked. Very small TV with only a couple of English channels. Towels more like tablecloths but clean ones provided every day. We took our own kettle but there was no fridge for our milk. Breakfast plentiful and waiting staff attentive. It was a 20 minute walk to the restaurants in Stresa in order to eat dinner/lunch. Perfectly located by the port for the ferry trips

The hotel is old and the rooms really need some renovations and upgrades. The decoration and style (mostly the rooms) is not up to the expectations. The room smelled old and damp. But the location is calm and quiet at night which is nice.

The room was clean and tidy. The shower head would not stay in the holder. The majority of the time we were there the water pressure was very good apart from one day. I found the mattress very hard, not used to sleeping on a mattress that hard. In general the hotel was very dated although clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, in Stresa.

Breakfast is terrible! The service stuff tried their best to transform the breakfast experience to be good but the ingredients of the breakfast buffet was one of the worst we ever have seen. The coffee is an undrinkable instant Nescafé product, so we decided to get our coffee outside on the restaurant next door. There are no warm products like bacon or eggs on the buffet. The ham was run out of data and became sour, maybe because nothing on the buffet was chilled. This is not a problem which is made by the stuff, but by the management. We are working for more than 20 years in hotels, so we know that's a management issue. The only reason why we give a good rating is the fantastic stuff of the hotel. The night audit Enrico was very nice and helpful. he served us the best aperol spritz we had on our 4 days in all stresa big compliment to him!!!

Ok, easy to find, good parking place. Swimming pool was inside and need a good wash to be ok . Problem with ant since balcony was in the garden .

We had a five night stay at the Lido La Perla having planned to spend some time on Lake Maggiore during our month holiday. It is a very nice hotel, well located near the lake foreshore with excellent access to the boating transport needed to visit the many sights on the lake. The hotel staff were very caring, the breakfast was vast and very fresh food, the room was well serviced with clean towels and linen each day and the bathroom was very good although having to step into the bath to shower is a possible hazard for elderly or informed guests. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the main town of Stresa so dining opportunities were limited but we used the nearby which was very good with a great view of the lake and a good menu. A taxi is required to get to and from the hotel if travelling by train. A couple of negatives are there was no fridge in our room ( forget having cold drinks available in your room) , there was no tea/ coffee making facilities and the tv could only be tuned to non English speaking stations. The hotel’s gardens are quite spectacular with large flowering hydrangeas and indoor there was a pool and very good couch areas to rest. Overall very good but a bit overpriced.

Excellent location in Stresa, ideal for catching the ferry boats to the islands and a lovely walk into the main part of the town. Our room was spacious with a large balcony. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast had plenty of choice and well displayed.
