Sketchy area in middle of nowhere. Booked via Trip and prepaid - front desk clerk had “no clue what Trip.com was” and afterwords tried to recharge my card before reminding him it’s already paid. Had to physically show him my email receipt and confirmation as proof. Then he had to double check with his “manager”. When I saw him later, he asked if I would be able to cancel my booking (non-refundable) via Trip, and pay directly through him because he “still hasn’t received payment”. I adamantly declined this and insisted he take it up with Trip himself.
The facilities are dark, dingy, and outdated. The smell of must and smoke hits you from the minute you walk in the lobby.
The room, although being recently “renovated” was as basic as can get. Two firm, uncomfortable mattresses with only one pillow provided per person. When I pulled back the sheets on the first bed, there was a long brownish stain plus hairs scattered everywhere on both beds.
No coffee maker, no cups, no ice bin in room.
Room REEKED of cigarette smoke and ******** - clearly from someone actively smoking within their unit nearby. To make it worse, the windows do not open, so I had to suffer all night smelling stale tobacco smoke and *********.
As I was coming back late one night and exiting my car, an entire family of black bears emerged right from the adjacent field and walked right across the parking lot.
Would NOT recommend this place unless as a last resort. There was not one available room left elsewhere in Sudbury, or I would have left.
