Mena Place OMG where do I start. I have been traveling abroad for over 40 years and this is 100% the worst hotel I have ever stayed. 99% of staff don’t speak any English. Went to our room, noticed the shower head holder was broke, took them 24 hours to fix. On all our holidays we always set a trap, we put a bit of paper down in the bathroom just behind the toilet. Day 7 when we were leaving the paper was still there. Cleaning of the bedroom and making of the beds was far and few between, bed sheets only changed once in 7 days. Beds were NEVER made 100%, dusting around the room was non-existent, the beds only 14 inches off the floor and they must have been a min of 15 years old with spring mattresses. Sink in the bathroom had a LARGE crack in it and also was NOT cleaned for the week as we left tooth paste on one side. Dirty glasses were NEVER taken or replaced, the cleaning staff did about 40% of the work they should do for a 4 star hotel. Day 4 of the holiday water starting coming down through the bedroom ceiling. Disgusting LAZY cleaning staff. The hotel itself was like time travel going back into the 70’s. Their website advertises “the hotel's a' la carte restaurant offers a great range of cuisines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner” TRUTH the restaurant was like a Motorway service station and the service station would be cleaner and better food with more to pick from, and hotter. • They advertise “Restaurants” LIES as there is ONLY ONE restaurant. On the restaurant wall was a certificate showing for a 3-star sorry what a joke I wouldn’t give it a 1 star. • Also advertise Minimarket, more lies there is none you have to walk 20m outside the hotel to a shop. There is NO a’la carte restaurant. The food, sorry it was pig’s swill. PLUS a a’la carte restaurant DON’T serve frozen veg. We only eat here for the first day. 3 out of the 4 of us has a stomach bug, says it all. Breakfast OMG cold beans, mushrooms which were frozen mushrooms and full of water, tomatoes, tin sausages, NO toaster, bacon was 85% fat 15% meat, NO cereal, dried bread. Tables were NOT set up, no cutlery, plates, glasses or cups NOTHING, you had to go and get cutlery from the side. Chipped and cracked plates. On their website & on Loveholidays site it shows tables all set up even with napkins and tablecloths what a joke and LIES and FALSE advertising by the Hotel & the travel agent Loveholidays, tables just had just OLD dirty plastic covers. Lunch n evening meals what a state. Choice was 100% limited but you had the guarantee that there were meatballs in sauce or fried. Frozen COLD veg. Toilet for the restaurant people complaining re no towels to wipe their hands, we sat there and watch a waitress who we noticed was a bully put paper towels in the toilet, wipes down a sink THEN came out of the toilet NOT washing her hands or anything, picked up clean cutlery from a trolly and started putting them into the holders for people to use. Sorry, that was it didn’t eat there again. T

Mena Palace is definitely NOT 4* A lot of information on Loveholidays website is misleaded eg. No WiFi in room, very poor connection even by the reception. Only one socket at side bottom of bed. Bed very low. Food same everyday, and cold but good selection of fruits. Staff doesn't understand simple English. Ice cream provided in the afternoon by one staff he was slow never smile so long queues. TV dies not have English Channel. Didn't change bedding for a whole 7 days whilst we were staying. Very good location 5mins to the beach. Would not recommend this hotel...

My son and I had a lovely time at Mena Palace. Fab location near central Sunny Beach. Room was serviced every day with clean towels and bed made so I’m surprised other reviewers experienced otherwise. Food was fine for all inclusive - good variety of meat, veggies, salads and fruit. We ate out some evenings but very cheap to do so. Had to buy pool towels but could see that was standard at all hotels in the area and you can buy them cheap at every one of the numerous shops nearby. Great pool area and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Nice outdoor area. No problems getting seats or loungers but it was getting a bit busier the weekend we left. Thank you.

Good value for money. Nothing to complain about. The staff is very kind and helpful. The food was good and abundant. The beach is five minutes away. The room was clean and quite big. We had a great time and most probably we will be back again. Thank you!

Just returned from a 2 week stay here..we love Bulgaria and have stayed in some amazing hotels,we have been really lucky with the all inclusive before even if we never expected anything spectacular..but by far this hotels food was the worst of any ..terrible..think we ate 3 or 4 times there in the whole 2 weeks ,and couldn't finish that..our poor friends who flew out here for 10 days to meet us just couldn't stomach it at all..but OK we will move on from that as we don't mind eating out but didn't expect it to be so regular..location of the hotel was perfect for us and we had the all inclusive drinks to look forward too,we're a sociable couple who love the pool and a few drinks to unwind and meet new people..you expect that don't you..you are on holiday after all..from day one we was warned by a really nice family from Wales that 2 of the bar staff were particularly rude towards them but not others and used to bang the tip boxes that were situated around the bar area very often..seeing is believing and boy did we see and here..the big guy in the morning was a delight (not) and viktoria who when wasn't in tears was snatching glasses from your hand and telling you to hurry up when asking for a drink .but that wasn't for everyone, as long as you were tipping her on a regular basis..we're a couple who like to tip as we appreciate staff..the younger staff we tipped they were really nice and patient and always a smile even if they weren't the quickest ..my wife refused to go to the bar as she was being ignored regularly.. the bar area itself was perfect. The lobby bar never opened. now for the room. Quite dated but spacious bed was OK. Shower was good. Clean towels most days but sheets not changed regularly. Although our friends had no clean towels or bed changes in 9 days. Reception staff were pleasant enough. The night security man was a lovely guy. Now my opinion the hotel does not cater gor children the children's menu was none existant and ice cream was at certain parts of the day unless you purchased one from the Little supermarket. But strangely enough it's one of those places that should be amazing and you would return too but just isn't.

I have just returned from a week at the Mena Palace. The hotel complex is exceptionally clean and tidy with lots of friendly staff making sure you enjoy your time there. The reception staff are friendly and nothing is too much bother. We had a jammed lock on our suitcase on arrival and immediately the reception staff arranged for someone with bolt cutters to remove the broken lock without damaging the suitcase. The food is really good for the price with lots of high quality food stations to choose from. The chicken is particularly nice. Poolside is fun, with lots going on and you can always find a subbed to relax and people watch. Special thanks to Viktoria at the poolside bar for being so friendly and customer focused. The amount of single use plastic could be improved but apart from that the Mena Palace is highly recommended.

A very basic hotel, definitely not a 4 star.. if you like a limited choice of cold food and no sleep due to awful beds, then this is the place for you. The all inclusive and only bar closes at 10pm, after this you are charged for your drinks. The hotel advertises a cocktail bar, this is not included as part of your all inclusive package. The staff speak very little English and do not understand simple requests. Rooms are not cleaned regularly and beds are not changed. Dirty dishes were left in the room for 4 days until I physically took them out. Fresh towels are left daily and the shower was amazing - this was the best part of the hotel for me. If you have young children (i do not), there's no animation team to entertain them - just a heads up. Sunny Beach is a beautiful area, but if I go back I will certainly research hotels thoroughly and will NOT be returning to Mena Palace..

This is not a 4* Hotel nor is the restaurant a 3*. I stayed with my family, 4 adults in total, arriving for 1 week at the beginning of June. With it being the start of the season, the hotel was quiet, with not many guests, to begin with. As the week went on, more and more guests arrived. Dining: The dining area is like a Butlins canteen / Motorway service station. Wooden table and chairs with plastic tablecloths. Tables are not laid so, you have to collect your cutlery yourself from the unit next to the toilets! There is no table service, staff only collect empty plates, cups etc and you are not asked - is everything ok? They do not engage with you. The food is awful. Very limited selection and almost the same every day. Breakfast is always the same and, the food is either cold or tepid. We paid to eat out most days. Mena Palace website claims this to be Ala Carte! This is not my idea of Ala Carte. Lots of Meat, being vegetarian I was limited with my options. The snacks are a joke! Simply a plate of stale biscuits put out on the bar around 3pm. There is nothing substantial provided, you either have to go outside and pay or wait until the restaurant opens if you are hungry. Ice cream is provided by the pool late afternoon but there is a massive queue. Pool: A nice clean pool area with the ONLY bar -. One outside pool and, the website claims to have an indoor pool but, this is merely a landing pool for the children's slide! No towels were provided so, we had to go out and buy our own. I have never stayed in a hotel claiming to be 4* all-inclusive and had to buy my own pool towel! Initially, there were plenty of sunbeds but as the week went on and the hotel seemed to be at full capacity, all the sunbeds were gone. Entertainment: Not much to say on this as we stayed out in the evenings. One evening there were Bulgarian Folk dancers and the next, Latin dancers. These lasted for just under an hour, I did not see any other entertainment around the evening shows. The pool/animation is non existant. There were 2 very young girls playing songs on repeat and asking if you wanted to play 'darts'. I asked if there was Yoga but they didn't understand. Bar: The only bar is the pool bar which closes at 10pm. After this, if they do not put the shutters down, they will charge you for drinks. One of the barmen, who appeared to be the Boss, was quite rude. On one occasion I was standing on the opposite side of the bar to him, he saw me and waved me over to his side of the bar, we would not come to me! The other bar staff were very pleasant but had limited English. There is a nice bar adjacent to Reception but this is not all-inclusive. It is a nice quiet area to sit and chill with reasonable prices compared to some of the other bars. Rooms: Awful beds! Spring mattresses which sink when you lay on them ( I am only tiny!) The worst week of sleep I have had. The shower has great water pressure and was lovely on my back in the mornings. Housekeeping: Very basic. The r

We had an excellent holiday and stay. Very clean hotel with pleasant staff. Very well situated and will almost certainly return next year. Food is pretty standard but always something to have even for fussy eaters and kids. Another working self service soft drink machine would be a good edition to use at the non working bar in the reception area. Overall, a very good hotel and would recommend and will return.
